A vehicle, in particular a motorcycle, having an engine with a crankshaft extending transversely to a travel or longitudinal direction of the vehicle, a transmission, and a clutch, which may assume an open state and a closed state. The clutch, which allows a torque transmission from the crankshaft to the transmission in the closed state, is situated coaxially to the crankshaft. The engine and transmission may be arranged such that the vehicle's rearswing arm may be located coaxially with an axis of a transmission output shaft.

A steerable axle spring suspension for a two-wheeler has a sliding tube and at least one longitudinal control arm which, swivellably about a transverse axis of the vehicle, is fixedly mounted on the vehicle frame. The sliding tube and the longitudinal control arm are connected with one another by a joint. The sliding tube is an axle-receiving device for receiving a wheel axle and a tube which is fixedly connected with and lengthens the axle-receiving device.

The vehicle frame has at least one principal frame element which extends essentially in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, specifically from the rear bottom, close to the engine, toward the front top, close to the steering device, in which case at least one further frame element is provided on each side below the principal frame element which extends at least in sections essentially in parallel to the vehicle contact surface and which forms a supporting surface for the respective foot of the driver. A safety belt device, a shoulder protection bow, a pelvis protection bow and a frame-fixed seat ramp are provided as additional safety devices.

A telescopically compressible wheel suspension, particularly for a front wheel of a motorcycle, having at least one standpipe and at least one slide pipe which are telescopically slidably guided inside one another in the axial direction via at least one slide bearing. The slide pipe and the standpipe are filled with oil and therefore form a lubricant container. In order to minimize the required amount of lubricant up to a defined level, a molded body is inserted into the slide and/or standpipe which, by means of at least one portion of its volume, displaces the lubricant, such as oil, to a level where lubrication is needed.
