Overvoltage arresters are used to protect against overvoltages in electrical energy transmission systems. An overvoltage arrester has a discharge column which extends along a longitudinal axis and is clamped in between end fittings by a plurality of tensile elements which radially surround the discharge column and are secured in the end fittings. At least one of the end fittings has a first thread for attaching a connecting bolt. Furthermore, the end fitting has a fitting body with a second thread for receiving a pressure screw for generating an axial force on the discharge column. Accordingly the first and second threads overlap along an axial section.

Overvoltage arrester

A valve-type arrester includes a heat sink for dissipating heat from the interior of the valve-type arrester into the surroundings of the valve-type arrester. The heat sink has a circular-cylindrical main body with a base surface, a top surface parallel to the base surface and a casing surface connecting the base surface and the top surface. The heat sink additionally has a plurality of fins disposed on the main body, in which each fin is formed in the shape of a sheet or a leaf and disposed on the casing surface of the main body.

A surge arrester, in particular for arresting surges, includes a housing and a disconnecting device. The housing is divided into at least two housing parts, and the disconnecting device connects the housing parts to one another.

Surge arrester

A surge arrester has several tensioning elements which brace the discharge column in the axial direction. One or more loop arrangements radially surround the tensioning elements. One loop arrangement has a plurality of loops. Each loop of the plurality of loops surrounds only some, but not all, of the tensioning elements.

A surge arrester includes an insulator having a first insulator end and an opposite second insulator end, at least one first electric arc electrode attached in the region of the first insulator end, at least one second electric arc electrode attached in the region of the second insulator end, a fixing element made of electrically non-conductive material for mounting the surge protector on an external support, and at least one dish-shaped element to which the first electric arc electrode is assigned and the dish side wall of which at least partially laterally encloses the first electric arc electrode. The fixing element is attached laterally to the dish side wall of the dish-shaped element.

An electrode configuration for an electrical component, in particular a surge protector, includes two electrodes extending in a plate-shaped manner parallel to a radial plane relative to a connection axis of the electrodes, defining an axial direction. At least one electrode has a connection region lying in the radial plane and at least two, three or four ribbon-shaped strips each extending away from the connection region and at least partially in circumferential direction relative to the axial direction. A fault arc, occurring during a lightning strike, can be conducted outwards away from the electrical component and forced into rotation around the electrical component in an effective manner due to the ribbon-shaped strips at the outer edge of the connection region and at least two ribbon-shaped strips overlapping each other at a spacing with respect to their delimiting surfaces lying perpendicular to the axial direction.

Electrode arrangement for an electrical component

A surge arrester includes at least one resistor element and a cage in which the at least one resistor element is disposed. The cage includes an upper holder, a lower holder and at least three insulating rods, which are each held at one respective rod end thereof by the upper holder and at the other respective rod end thereof by the lower holder. The upper holder and the lower holder are configured in such a way that they each enable at least two different positions for at least one of the insulating rods, relative to the two holders, and the at least one insulating rod can be positioned differently relative to the two holders.

A surge arrester has a tube-shaped housing, an end fitting connected to an end of the housing, a varistor block arranged in the housing and a supporting element arranged in the region of the end fitting. The supporting element has a supporting ring which is in contact with the housing and which includes a cone and a clamping ring with a counter-cone that corresponds to the cone. The cone is braced to the counter-cone in such a manner that the supporting ring is pressed to the housing in a non-displaceable manner. The supporting element can thus also be used after the installation of the varistor block and also be removed.

A surge arrester has a collar for fixing tensioning elements. The collar is extendable and is capable of absorbing released energy in the event of a fault and holding together the cage containing the tensioning elements. The collar, which fixes the tensioning elements in the radial direction, is positioned around the cage of the surge arrester formed from the tensioning elements. The form of the collar is such that it has defined deformation regions, with the result that the collar can expand and thus widen in the event of a force effect in the radial direction. If the varistor elements expand in the manner of an explosion during an overload, the collar is expanded and absorbs some of the released energy. This ensures that the cage is held together in the event of an overload and thus no fragments of the varistor elements can be flung out of the cage.

A configuration includes a surge arrester. The surge arrester includes first and second connecting terminals. At least one connecting terminal is connected to an electrically conductive connecting path to contact the surge arrester. The connecting path is mounted in a universally jointed manner.

Arrangement comprising a surge arrester

A surge arrester has a varistor element. A first and a second armature body are pressed against the varistor element by way of a bracing device. At least one of the armature bodies has a shoulder on which a cross-member of the bracing device is supported. A tensioning leg is fitted to the cross-member.
