A method and device for operating an automated vehicle, including: acquiring an environment of the automated vehicle including the traffic intersection; preparing an environment map based on the acquired environment, the environment map including a subdivision into grid cells, each including occupancy probabilities and velocity distributions; acquiring an updated environment of the automated vehicle; adapting the occupancy probabilities and the velocity distributions for each grid cell; determining the occupancy probabilities and velocity distributions of an expected environment in a next time step; repeatedly executing the steps until a final occupancy probability and a final velocity distribution is determined for each grid cell according to predefined criteria; determining a driving strategy for the automated vehicle as a function of the final occupancy probabilities and the final velocity distributions; and operating the automated vehicle as a function of the driving strategy.

Method and device for operating an automated vehicle at a traffic intersection

A device for protecting a travel trajectory of an ego vehicle. An information evaluation device creates an ego grid for the travel trajectory of the ego vehicle through the travel surroundings so that for each ego grid cell, a temporal occupation of the particular ego grid cell by the ego vehicle, driving along the travel trajectory, is established, and creates a surroundings grid for the travel surroundings so that a temporal occupation of a surroundings grid cell by at least one object that is possibly present is established for each surroundings grid cell. The device includes a grid evaluation device that examines each ego grid cell and the particular associated surroundings grid cell with regard to a simultaneous occupation of the particular ego grid cell by the ego vehicle, driving along the travel trajectory, and of the particular associated surroundings grid cell by the at least one possibly present object.

A method for adapting a driving behavior of a semi, highly or fully automated vehicle and includes the following steps: receiving passenger compartment data; ascertaining a safety state of at least one vehicle occupant which in particular represents an injury probability of the vehicle occupant in the event of an accident, based on the passenger compartment data; and adapting the driving behavior of the vehicle based on the safety state of the at least one vehicle occupant.
