Various embodiments disclosed herein relate to stemmed and stemless humeral anchors for use in shoulder arthroplasty procedures. For example, the humeral anchor can include a first end, a second end, and an interior surface extending between the first end and the second end. The interior surface can be disposed about a recess disposed between the first end and the second end. The recess can be configured to secure a coupling of a shoulder articular body directly to the interior surface.

Shoulder prosthesis components and assemblies

A stemless humeral anchor () includes a first end () configured to be embedded in a proximal portion of a humerus and a second end (); a mating portion () for an articular component; a transversely extending collar (); and a rotation control feature (A) for resisting rotation when the stemless humeral anchor is implanted. A void filling protrusion () can extend circumferentially from rotation control feature and can include a porous shell (), in which a void filling component () can be disposed. The rotation control feature can comprise arms. One or more arms (A) can have a larger radial extent than the others (). A prosthesis assembly includes a base member () that has a helical structure () and one or more pathways (). The pathway is accessible from a proximal end and is directed distally through the helical structure. The pathway is located inward of an outer periphery of the helical structure. The pathway extends in a space between successive portions of the helical structure. The prosthesis assembly includes a locking device () that has a support member () and an arm () that projects away from the support member. The arm is disposed in the pathway when the support member is disposed adjacent to the proximal end of the base member. The arm is disposed through bone in the space between successive portions of the helical structure when the prosthesis assembly is implanted.

Patient specific stemless prosthesis anchor components

An inserter includes a first end, a second end, and a body extending between the first end and the second end. A first impacting surface is disposed at the first end, and a second impacting surface is disposed adjacent to the second end. An interface disposed at the second end and is configured to engage an implant. The first impacting surface is configured to direct a first impacting force along the body of the inserter in a first direction, and the second impacting surface is configured to direct a second impacting force along the body in a second direction that is different from the first direction. Methods of use also are disclosed.

An exemplary bone screw includes a proximal section including a first outer thread, a center section including a second outer thread, an unthreaded distal section on an opposite side of the center section from the proximal section, a channel extending from the proximal section to a distal opening of the unthreaded distal section, and at least one side opening extending from the channel to an outer surface of the unthreaded distal section. In some embodiments, the at least one side opening includes a cutting edge configured to cut a material as the bone screw is rotated in a direction for removing the bone screw. In other embodiments, the side opening is formed in at least one of the center section and the unthreaded distal section and includes a diameter that increases in a direction from the channel toward an outer surface of the center section or the unthread distal section. The exemplary bone screws may be used to treat bone fractures with or without a bone plate.
