Embodiments presented herein relate to a method for reciprocity-based transmission in a radio communication network. The method is performed in a base station and may include obtaining a channel estimation of Rx quantities of a set of receive, Rx, and transmit, Tx, distribution networks, obtaining a channel estimation of Rx quantities of a set of Rx distribution networks, and performing reciprocity-based transmission with utilization of the obtained channel estimation of Rx quantities of both the set of Rx and Tx distribution network and the set of Rx distribution network, whereby channel estimation of Rx quantities of more Rx distribution networks than Tx distribution networks are utilized for the reciprocity-based transmission. A method, a base station, a wireless device, a computer programs and a computer program product for reciprocity-based beamforming in a radio communication network are also presented.

Reciprocity-based transmission

The embodiments herein relate to a method in a first device () for informing a second device () that an identity associated with the first device () is at a certain location. The first device () obtains information about the location of the first device (). The first device () broadcasts, by means of device to device, D2D, communication, a message to be received by the second device (). The message comprises the location information and an identity information associated with a user of the first device (). The location information is transmitted on a first communications resource and the identity information is transmitted on a second communications resource.

Methods and devices for sending and receiving location information for wireless devices

The present invention relates to a motion detector device comprising a receiver arranged for reception of at least one electromagnetic signal constituted by a corresponding transmitted electromagnetic signal being transmitted by a corresponding source and influenced by a corresponding channel. The motion detector device comprises predetermined information regarding each transmitted electromagnetic signal. The motion detector device further comprises analyzing means arranged to analyze all components of the received signal to determine how certain parameters of each transmitted electromagnetic signal are influenced by each corresponding channel by means of the predetermined information. The analyzing means is also arranged to analyze the temporal variation of said certain parameters during a certain time. It is determined if said temporal variation exceeds a predetermined threshold. The present invention also relates to a corresponding method.

Motion detector device

The effects of interference between a communication system operating in a frequency area and another system sending out pulses affecting the frequency area can be handled by means of a communication unit (RBS, MT) for use in a first cellular communications system, in which at least one type of system sensitive data is transmitted at pre-determined points in time, said communications unit comprising transmitting means () arranged to transmit said system sensitive data and processing means () arranged to control the transmitting means to transmit the system sensitive data at new points in time different from the predetermined points in time, instead of at said predetermined points in time, to reduce the risk of interference from a second system operating in the same frequency range as the first cellular communications system.

Communications unit and method

A controlling node for a cellular communications system, arranged to determine and transmit commands for Transmit Power Control, TPC, to one or more Mobile Terminals, MTs, in at least one cell in the system. The controlling node is arranged to classify an MT as being in one of a number of states, and to use differing methods for determining an MT's TPC command depending on which state the MT is in, so that one method is used for determining TPC commands to an MT in the active state and another method is used for determining TPC commands to an MT in the passive state.

Device and method for transmit power control

Method and arrangement in a Radio Base Station RBS in a wireless communication system, for handling load coupling in softer handover. The method in an RBS involves receiving () signals from a plurality of UEs connected to the RBS, using a category 1 receiver. Further, the load experienced by the respective UEs is determined (). The effect of load coupling in softer handover of at least one of the UEs connected to the RBS is estimated (), and, when the estimated effect of load coupling of a UE fulfills a predefined criterion (), at least one entity in the RBS is modified (), such that the effect of load coupling is reduced or avoided.

Load estimation in softer handover

Apparatus and method for reducing an air interface load in a communication network. A base station is provided with a receiver adapted to receive signals from a terminal via a Dedicated Physical Control Channel (DPCCH) and a second control channel. A measuring unit measures a signal to interference ratio (SIR) of the DPCCH. An effective SIR determining unit determines an effective SIR on the basis of the measured SIR of the DPCCH and an estimate of the SIR of the second control channel. A comparison unit compares the effective SIR with a target SIR, and a power determination unit determines a power control command for controlling power usage for the DPCCH on the basis of the comparison. A transmitter sends a message to the terminal, the message including the power control command. The invention allows the DPCCH power (or DPCCH SIR) operating point to be maintained at a low level.

Reducing load in a communications network

A method and apparatus for reducing an effect of user interference on other users in an uplink of a radio access network using interference suppression. A user, for example, the user experiencing the highest interference, is selected from a plurality of users using the radio access cell. A perceived Rise over Thermal value for the user after interference suppression is predicted in the event that scheduling grants to an interfering user in the radio access network are altered. On the basis of the prediction, scheduling grants to the interfering user are altered, thereby reducing the interference for the selected user.

Reducing interference in a radio access network

Antenna device and method in a MIMO system

A radio base station () for use in a wireless communication system comprises&#x2014;a scheduling unit () arranged to schedule at least one user terminal to which to transmit in each subframe and&#x2014;a power allocation unit () arranged to allocate a first amount of power to be used for the at least one user terminal in each subframe, a transmitter () arranged to transmit a transport block in a subframe to a number of user terminals () in the wireless communication system in accordance with said scheduling and power allocation. The radio base station further comprises&#x2014;a correction unit () arranged to determine, after scheduling has been performed for a chosen subframe, if there is excess power in the chosen subframe that has not been allocated to any user terminal and if so allocate at least a first part of the excess power to at least one user terminal scheduled in the subframe. The excess power is used when transmitting in the subframe.

Communications unit and method for use in a wireless communications network

A radio base station for use in a Wideband Code Division Multiple Access network. The radio base station comprises a receiver for receiving radio signals transmitted over the air by users, and a first processor for processing the received signals in order to recover signals for a first group of users, the 'cancellers', and a first set of control signals for a second group of users, the 'cancellees'. The radio base station further comprises an interference canceller for performing interference cancellation on the received signals using the recovered signals in order to generate an interference cancelled signal, a second processor for subsequently processing the interference cancelled signal in order to recover a second set of control signals for the cancellees, and a controller for using the control signals to control the transmission of data towards said cancellees.

Communications unit and method for detecting pulse interference

A method for load scheduling in a WCDMA communication system utilizing GRake equalizing radio reception comprises estimating () of channel estimates for a plurality of users. Combining weights are established () for a GRake equalizing reception for the present received uplink digital radio signals. Function parameters of a predicted future load measure function is predicted () as a function of individual grants of the plurality of users based on at least the channel estimates and the combing weights, taking sensitivity for interference suppression provided by the GRake equalizing for each of the plurality of users into account.
