In a first aspect of the present invention, a wireless power transmission link is proposed, which while substantially maintaining resonant coupling condition (resonance frequency of the source resonant circuit is substantially equal to the resonance frequency of the load resonant circuit) detects a coupling condition of the wireless power transmission link. In a further aspect of the present invention, a wireless power transmission link is suggested, which while substantially maintaining resonant coupling condition (resonance frequency of the source resonant circuit is substantially equal to the resonance frequency of the load resonance circuit) controlling the operating state of the wireless power transmission link such, that the coupling condition of wireless power transmission link is substantially limited to the critical coupling condition.

Wireless resonance coupled energy transmission

In a first aspect of the current invention, a receiver circuit for a wireless power transmission link is proposed, wherein while maintaining substantially resonant coupling condition (resonance frequency of the transmitter unit is substantially equal to the resonance frequency of the receiver unit) the coupling is electronically controlled and optimized such that maximal critical coupling occurs. In a further aspect of the invention, the coupling between the transmitter unit and receiver unit is optimized by transforming of at least one receiver load such that maximal critical coupling occurs and overcritical coupling is avoided. In a further aspect of the invention, the coupling between the transmitter unit and the receiver unit is optimized by transforming of at least one receiver load by means of boost- and/or buck converters such that maximal critical coupling occurs.

Coupling optimized electrical wireless power transmission

In a first aspect of the current invention, a receiver circuit for a wireless power transmission link is proposed, wherein while maintaining substantially resonant coupling condition (resonance frequency of the transmitter unit is substantially equal to the resonance frequency of the receiver unit) the coupling is electronically controlled and optimized such that maximal critical coupling occurs. An alternation voltage- or current generator comprises a first switch driving output network whose frequency can be tuned. The tunable network comprises a first Inductor that is coupled with a first capacitor. A second inductor and/or at least a second capacitor and/or at least a series circuit of a third inductor and a third capacitor which is coupled via at a second switch to the network. The second switch is controlled by a controlled delay (PWM) which is synchronized by a sign change of current and/or voltage in the network.

Large signal VCO

An electrical resonance network comprising a first capacitor and a first inductor whose resonance frequency can be tuned by means of a second capacitor and/or a second inductor. The resulting effective capacitor- or inductor value of a network period is controlled by a variable coupling respectively decoupling interval by means of at least one coupling switch. The coupling respectively decoupling interval is synchronized by a sign change of a current and/or voltage in the network.

Controlled large signal capacitor and inductor

An alternation voltage- or current generator comprises a first switch driving output network whose frequency can be tuned. The tuneable network comprises a first Inductor that is coupled with a first capacitor. A second inductor and/or at least a second capacitor and/or at least a series circuit of a third inductor and a third capacitor which is coupled via at a second switch to the network. The second switch is controlled by a controlled delay (PWM) which is synchronized by a sign change of current and/or voltage in the network.

A switched-mode power supply with a control loop and a microprocessor has a normal mode and a low-power mode with a burst mode. The microprocessor is connected via an output to the control loop and uses this to control the burst mode of the switched-mode power supply directly. The control loop of the switched-mode power supply monitors, in particular, a secondary output voltage, so that the output of the microprocessor is connected to the control loop, for example via a simple resistor network or a transistor stage. The clock frequency and the duty cycle of the burst mode are permanently stored in the microprocessor and can be defined for the switched-mode power supply directly, for example using TTL logic.

Arrangement having a switched-mode power supply and a microprocessor

The switched-mode power supply comprises a secondary winding and four diodes for producing two rectified voltages of the same polarity, one of which can be regulated. A connection of the unregulated voltage has connected to it a variable Zener diode as an error amplifier for transmitting a regulating signal to the primary side. The driver stage provides a pulse-width-modulated square-wave signal for driving the switching transistor which is arranged at a high potential between the operating voltage on the input side and a first connection of the primary winding. The second connection of the primary winding is connected with a Zener diode and provides a stabilized voltage for the driver stage. Arranged between the driver stage and the control electrode of the switching transistor there is a differentiating element which produces positive and negative switching voltages for controlling the switching transistor.

Switched-mode power supply

The storage coil has a core and windings which are arranged as conductor tracks on base layers. The base layers each contain only one winding, whose start and end are each passed out on one or more projections on the outer edge of the base layer. In consequence, the projections project out of an opening in a core, for example an E/I core, on which projections the windings of the base layers make contact with one another and with connections. With suitable dimensioning, losses resulting from the skin effect and eddy current losses can be kept very low.
