Device and process for producing and treating a fibrous web. The device includes a moistening unit structured and arranged to simultaneously influence a cross machine moisture profile of the web and the curl of the web independently of each other. Equipment and method for producing and/or treating a fibrous web

Dryer section for drying a fibrous web supported by at least one drying fabric. The dryer section includes a plurality of heated drying cylinders, a plurality of guide rolls, and a plurality of dampening devices arranged at different locations relative to the fibrous web. Each dampening device applies a quantity of liquid to the fibrous web. In at least in one of the plurality of dampening devices, the quantity of the liquid is adjustable separately in zones transversely with respect to a web running direction. Dryer section

Process and apparatus for drying a material web. The process includes guiding the material web to at least one heated area having a jacket surface of a cylinder having a diameter of between about 4-10 meters, setting the material web, having a dry content of between about 45-55%, onto the at least one heated area, maintaining the material web in uninterrupted contact with the at least one heated area at least until the material web achieves a firmness sufficient for detaching the material web from the heated area, and detaching the material web from the at least one heated area with a dry content of between about 55%-65%.

Process and device for drying of a material web

Process and apparatus for drilling holes in a shell of a paper machine cylinder, which is in its operating position. The process includes fixing a drilling apparatus to a cylinder adjacent to the cylinder to be drilled, and substantially eliminating influences of mechanical play due to structures of the adjacent cylinder prior to drilling, which includes coupling a support member to the adjacent cylinder to exert tangential forces on the adjacent cylinder, whereby the mechanical play is substantially eliminated. The apparatus includes a stationary framework supportable on the paper machine, a feed frame that is radially movable along said stationary framework relative to the shell, a drive unit, a plurality of drilling modules coupled to said feed frame, which are rotatable via the drive unit, a fixing device couplable to and adjacent cylinder, a device for eliminating influence of mechanical play due to structures of said adjacent cylinder, and support members adapted to exert tangential forces on said adjacent cylinder.

Process and apparatus for drilling holes in the shell of a cylinder

Method and apparatus for determining characteristics of a running material web, the apparatus including at least one measuring device. The at least one measuring device is movable and has at least two degrees of freedom of movement. Each of the at least two degrees of freedom of movement is at least one of a rotary movement and a linear movement. The at least one measuring device is adapted to detect, at a plurality of measurement locations, data relating to at least one measured parameter. The at least one measuring device detects data about at least one of the following measured parameters: measured parameters which relate to a characteristic value of air in a region of the material web; measured parameters which relate to the material web; and other measured parameters. The method includes detecting, at a plurality of measurement locations and using the at least one measuring device, data relating to at least one measured parameter.

System and method of operating a machine for manufacturing and/or refining a material web wherein the machine includes at least one machine section. The method includes arranging a plurality of measurement zones in series along a process direction and detecting data in a region of the at least one machine section via at least one measurement zone of the plurality of measurement zones. The data concerns at least one measured parameter relating to the manufacture or refinement of the material web. The system includes a plurality of measurement zones arranged in series along a process direction of the machine. At least one of the plurality of measurement zones is located in the at least one machine section. At least one measurement device for detecting data is located in at least one of the plurality of measurement zones. An evaluation unit is provided for evaluating the data.

Method of operating a machine for the manufacture and/or refinement of material webs

A machine for producing a material web is provided having at least one smooth roll at least partially wrapped by the material web. The machine includes an air blowing device arranged for ventilating the material web with at least one discharge stream, wherein the at least one discharge stream is directed into a wedge-shaped opening formed between the at least one at least one roll and the material web leaving the roll.

A process for drying a web provides for guiding a web having a moisture content and subjecting the web to laser radiation to remove at least some portion of the moisture content. A system for drying a web includes at least one laser, a moisture measurement device, and a control device, wherein the control device receives input from the measurement device and influences the at least one laser.

Device and process for removing a fibrous material web from a drying section of a machine for producing and/or refining the fibrous material web and into a catch device. The drying section includes heated drying cylinders, guidance rolls, and at least one drying wire arranged such that the fibrous material web is guided through the drying section over the heated drying cylinders and the guidance rolls at least predominately by the at least one drying wire. The device includes at least one controllable separating device arranged to at least reduce an adhesion force between the fibrous material web and the at least one drying wire.

Removal device

In a drying section of a machine for producing a material web such as, in particular, a paper or cardboard web, a pick-up suction roll, in particular a larger pick-up suction roll, is provided between the last pressing nip of a pressing section and a subsequent impingement drying unit, which suction roll removes the material web from a pressing felt guided through the pressing nip or from a transfer belt and transfers it to the impingement drying unit.

Measuring system and process for determining properties of a running fibrous material web in a drying section of a machine producing the fibrous material web. The system includes at least one upper roll and at least one lower roll. The fibrous material web is arranged to partially wrap the at least one upper roll and the at least one lower roll and to run between these rolls at an angle between about 0 and 45&deg; to a vertical. A sensor guide is arranged crosswise to a web run direction, and at least one sensor is arranged to traverse the sensor guide in the web run direction in a region of the at least one lower roll. The sensor is structured and arranged for determining a web parameter, and is oriented to form a maximum angle of about 60&deg; to a horizontal through an axis of the lower roll.

Measuring system

Described is a machine for manufacturing a continuous web, in particular a paper or cardboard web, the machine having a number of rolls that may include press rolls, drying cylinders, suction rolls, or the like. At least one transport belt is guided with the web around the rolls and is characterized by the fact that a metallic screen is guided between the web and the respective roll surface. The metallic screen may be formed of metal, formed as a metallized drying screen, or formed from metal and synthetic threads.

Drying section of a machine for producing a material web. The drying section includes at least one web guidance device and at least one wire arranged to guide the material web through the at least one web guidance device. The at least one web guidance device is structured and arranged to direct pressurized gas at the material web so that, in a web travel direction, the material web is alternately lifted from the at least one wire and resting against the at least one wire.

A process and a device for drying and smoothing a web. The process uses an apparatus including at least one dryer section having a plurality of heated cylinders and a calender having a plurality of smoothing nips, and includes guiding the web over the plurality of heated cylinders in the at least one dryer section, drying the web in the at least one dryer section to a maximum dry content of approximately 93%, adjusting a moisture cross-profile of the web in the dryer section, and guiding the web to the calender. The device includes a dryer section comprising beginning, middle, and end sections, a calender, and at least one adjusting device located in the end section for moistening the web, wherein the web is guided through the dryer section prior to being guided to the calender.

Drying and smoothing unit for webs of fibrous material

Heated cylinder and process of using same for heating a fibrous material web in machines for one of producing and refining the fibrous material web. The heated cylinder includes a cylinder jacket having an outer jacket layer with good heat conductivity, a heat insulating layer positioned contiguous to and inside of the outer jacket layer, and at least one heating system positioned outside the cylinder jacket adapted to heat at least a surface of the cylinder. The process includes heating a surface of the cylinder to a temperature between about 120 and 250&deg; C. with the at least one heating system, and guiding a material web over a portion of the surface of the cylinder such that the material web contacts the surface of the cylinder for a period of at least about 50 ms.
