Extendable vehicle electronics system including a base unit having base electronic components for implementing base electronic functions. An extension module includes a module data transceiver and extension electronic components operable in combination with the base electronic components for implementing extended electronic functions. A base data transceiver is used for communications between the base unit and the module data transceiver. A module locator locates the extension module for communication between the base unit and the module data transceiver. The extension electronic components include a processor for processing input data to generate output data within the extension module for transmission to the base unit.

Extendable vehicle electronics system, extension module, and associated methods

System for enabling circuit board surface-slot-edge connections. A main board includes a slot through its surfaces. At least one edge of the slot includes electrical contacts to the main board. An auxiliary board includes a connector component mounted on a surface that opposes a surface of the main board. When the connector component is aligned with the slot, the connector component can protrude vertically through the slot, in addition to moving laterally towards an edge of the slot. Electrical contacts on the edge of the slot can engage with electrical contacts in the connector component. This enables two boards to be arranged closely, without extending the main surface in an orthogonal or lateral direction, using a secure connection provided by a connector attached to the auxiliary board, rather than the main board.

Method using a blanking signal to reduce the leakage transmitter-receiver

A method synchronizes plural terminal communication systems and a counterpart communication station connected via a radio link within a multi-standard wireless communication system, wherein a counterpart transmission signal is transmitted from said counterpart communication station to the corresponding terminal communication system. A common reference clock signal is generated and supplied to a signal generation unit within said terminal communication system, wherein each terminal communication system comprises a conversion ratio unit having a conversion ratio. An accurate frequency datum is derived from each counterpart transmission signal in the terminal communication systems and a frequency control signal is determined from said accurate frequency datum. A synchronization between said terminal communication stations and counterpart communication station is obtained by adjusting the frequency of the common reference clock signal and/or the conversion ratio of said conversion ratio units according to the frequency control signal.

Method and system for synchronization of at least two terminal communication systems and at least one counterpart communication station within a multi-standard wireless communication system

An apparatus and a method provide synchronization of an output signal to a synchronization information. The synchronization is accomplished by providing coupling of a correction control information that controls a signal generator, e.g. a phase locked loop arrangement or a direct digital synthesis arrangement, to its exact frequency to a frequency conversion unit that converts an uncorrected reference frequency to a correct or exact reference frequency. Thereby, the uncorrected reference frequency for the signal generator can be provided by a simple crystal oscillator without any frequency controller. The setting of the signal generator and the frequency conversion unit can be done in a predetermined sequence which enables a user equipment to synchronize its reference frequency to the synchronization information emitted by a communication network.

Synchronization scheme with adaptive reference frequency correction

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for providing synchronization of an output signal to a synchronization information. The synchronization is accomplished by providing coupling of a correction control information that controls a signal generating means, e.g. a phase locked loop arrangement () or a direct digital synthesis arrangement, to its exact frequency to a frequency conversion unit () that converts an uncorrected reference frequency to a correct or exact reference frequency. Thereby, the uncorrected reference frequency for the signal generating means () can be provided by a simple crystal oscillator () without any means for frequency control. The setting of the signal generating means () and the frequency conversion unit () can be done in a predetermined sequence which enables a user equipment to synchronize its reference frequency to the synchronization information emitted by a communication network.

In a method for synchronizing a mobile station with the base station in a mobile communication system, a reference-frequency oscillator is re-adjusted. To enable an inexpensive reference-frequency oscillator of simple construction to be used, the frequency variations resulting from a change in the temperature of the mobile station and a change in its location are determined and/or predicted separately. When the frequency variations are large, the mobile station is synchronized with the base station more frequently than when they are small.

Method and arrangement for frequency synchronization of a mobile station with a base station in a mobile communication system
