A transport device for transporting printing substrates includes a conveyor belt that is supported on its inner side by revolving profiles. Each profile has grooves, at least one of which has a first bore and a second bore. A vacuum is applied to the first bore and the second bore is in air-conducting connection with a longitudinal groove in a slide so that suction air flows out of the longitudinal groove, through the at least one groove and into the first bore. A printing machine is also provided.

Printing substrate transport device and printing machine

A method prints and dries a substrate where ink containing water and pigment is printed onto the substrate in an inkjet printing process. The substrate has an initial moisture content and absorbs at least water of the ink, causing the moisture content of the substrate to rise. Radiation selectively acting on the water molecules is applied in a first drying step and then radiation selectively acting on the pigment is applied in a second drying step in such a way that after completion of the two drying steps, the water of the applied ink has essentially completely evaporated and the substrate has essentially reattained its initial moisture content. In this manner optimum drying of substrates to which ink has been applied occurs.

Method for printing and drying

A belt conveyor for printing sheets includes an outer belt on which the printing sheets rest during transport. The belt conveyor also includes an inner belt. A chain is disposed between the inner belt and the outer belt. The inner belt drives the chain and the chain drives the outer belt.

Belt conveyor for printing sheets

A digital printing machine includes a first sheet-conveying belt made of a first material, a second sheet-conveying belt made of a second material, and a print head for printing on a front side and a back side of the print sheet. The print head is directed towards the first sheet-conveying belt. A reversing device reverses the print sheet between receiving a print on the front side and receiving a print on the back side. A drier dries a print that has been printed onto the print sheet by the print head. The drier is directed towards the second sheet-conveying belt. For instance, the first sheet-conveying belt may be a metal belt and the second sheet-conveying belt may be a plastic belt.

Digital printing machine

A carousel-type printing system includes a plurality of printing units for printing on objects and a revolver for conveying the objects from one of the printing units to another. The revolver has a plurality of spindles with retaining elements for holding the objects. A first shaft and a first motor are provided for rotating the revolver. A second shaft and a common second motor are provided for rotating the spindles. One of the two shafts is a hollow shaft and the other of the two shafts is an interior shaft in the hollow shaft. The first motor and the second motor are preferably coaxial with one another.

Carousel-type printing system

A digital printing machine includes a printing bar for inkjet printing. The printing bar is mounted to be movable into a working position and into a retracted position. An adjustable roll and a spring-mounted roll form a first assembly and are disposed opposite one another. A rail forms a second assembly and is located between the adjustable roll and the spring-mounted roll when the printing bar is in the working position and is not located between the adjustable roll and the spring-mounted roll when the printing bar is in the retracted position. One of the two assemblies is disposed on the printing bar and the other of the two assemblies is separate from the printing bar.

A device for printing on multi-dimensional objects includes an object carrier for holding and moving the object to be printed on, a tool carrier for receiving stationary processing tools, and a frame to which the tool carrier is fixed. The object carrier has three guide tracks which are disposed perpendicular to one another and each of which is oriented along a respective axis of movement. Carriages are movable on the guide tracks for executing a translatory movement of the object relative to the stationary processing tools. The device may have a modular construction, allowing the device to be adapted to a variety of objects to be printed on.

Device for printing on multi-dimensional objects

A device for printing on a surface of an object contains a stationary printing unit for printing on the object. The printing unit contains an inkjet print head for creating a print on the surface of the object in an operating area of the print head. A movable holding unit is provided for receiving the object in a receiving region and for a rotary movement of the object from the receiving region into the operating area of the print head and for a linear movement of the object in the operating area of the print head during the creation of the print. At least one control unit is provided for controlling the movements of the holding unit and the creation of the print.

An apparatus for printing a curved surface of an object, for example a ball includes a stationary printing unit for printing the object, the printing unit including an inkjet print head producing a print on the object surface in an active region of the print head, a curing unit for curing the print, the curing unit including a radiant heater curing the print in an active region of the radiant heater, a movable holding unit for receiving the object in a receiving region, moving the object from the receiving region into the active region of the print head, moving the object in the active region of the print head during production of the print and moving the object into the active region of the curing unit, and a control unit for controlling the movements of the holding unit, the production of the print and the curing of the print.

Apparatus for printing a curved surface of an object

An apparatus for removing sheets from a transport path of a sheet-processing machine for depositing the sheets onto an auxiliary stack, includes a delivery drum for removing the sheets from the transport path upstream of a main stack, as viewed in the transport direction, and depositing the sheets onto an auxiliary stack in a manner which is retarded by using a suction belt transport system and a suction belt brake system which is associated with the latter. The suction belt transport system and the suction belt brake system are disposed above the auxiliary stack.

In a delivery of a sheet-processing machine, in particular a printing press, provision is made for chain gripper systems for holding the sheets to be transported at the leading and trailing edges thereof. The holding devices are configured such that they can be displaced relative to one another for the purpose of format adjustment. The chain gripper system has a sprocket drive shaft and a sprocket deflection shaft for the chains of the chain gripper system. Here, provision is made for both the sprocket drive shaft and the sprocket deflection shaft to have a clutch.
