A hotmelt adhesive having a melting point of at least 40&#xb0; C. is provided which may be hardened in multiple stages and which is useful in the production of laminates. The hotmelt adhesive may contain a polymer with at least one functional group that is reactive towards a compound with an acidic hydrogen atom and with one functional group that can be polymerized by UV or electron beams, or a polymer with at least one functional group that is reactive towards a compound with an acidic hydrogen atom and with no functional group that can be polymerized by UV or electron beams. These polymers may be used in combination with a relatively low molecular compound with a functional group that can be polymerized by UV or electron beams.

Adhesive which hardens in several stages

An isocyanate bonding agent which has a low content of highly volitile residual monomers which forms little migrate and has improved lubricant adhesion is provided. The bonding agent comprises prepolymers having isocyanate groups of different reactivities or the reaction products thereof.

Monomer-poor polyurethane bonding agent having an improved lubricant adhesion

A low-monomer PU prepolymer containing free NCO groups which is obtained from polyhydric alcohols and diisocyanates differing in their reactivity and which is distinguished by the ratio of the NCO groups of the partly slower-reacting diisocyanate to the NCO groups of the faster-reacting diisocyanate. It is greater than 6:1. Nevertheless the prepolymer according to the invention cures more quickly than a known prepolymer predominantly containing fast-reacting NCO groups. In a preferred embodiment, TDI is used as the partly slower-reacting diisocyanate while MDI is used as the faster-reacting diisocyanate. The prepolymer is produced in two stages. The prepolymer according to the invention is suitable for bonding plastic articles, metals and paper, especially films. The accelerated absence of migration is particularly noticeable in this regard.
