A device for servicing/maintaining a high-voltage battery, which has individual battery cells or battery modules, and high-voltage positive and negative terminals, and a battery management system having a data transmission terminal for bidirectionally transmitting management system data between the management system and an information-processing unit, external to the battery. The device includes at least two of: a battery charge device, a battery discharge device, and a battery diagnostic device. A battery charge device brings a battery to a higher charge state, and has positive and negative terminals to be connected to positive and negative battery terminals. A battery diagnostic device checks a battery, and the device, for the presence of internal errors, and to indicate recognized internal errors, and may also produce diagnostic data for the battery state and triggering functions directed to bring the device and/or battery safely into a different state, to operate/test them.

For providing time multiplexing sequences for transmit antennas of a linear or two-dimensional MIMO radar unit that includes antennas situated close to one another (collocated MIMO radar), a method that enables a precise angle estimation includes implementing an algorithm with which a transmit sequence of transmitters and their transmit times are determined so that object movements have essentially no influence on the angle estimation. In this way, as a function of previously known quantities, optimal time multiplexing sequences can be determined in each case.

An electronically commutated electric motor includes a stator and a rotor formed as a permanent magnet. A control unit is connected to the stator and configured to energize the stator to produce a rotating magnetic field. The electric motor further includes at least one Hall sensor configured to detect at least a magnitude of a sensor magnetic field produced by a sensor magnet connected to the rotor. The electric motor also includes at least one magneto resistive sensor configured to detect an alignment of a total magnetic field during a rotor revolution of the rotor and to generate a rotor position signal representing this alignment. The total magnetic field includes the sensor magnetic field and an interference magnetic field superimposed thereon. The control unit is further configured to determine the rotor position of the rotor at least depending on the alignment of the total magnetic field.

A device and a method for testing fuel injectors, in particular, of the piezo type. The device includes at least one, in particular, bidirectional interface for connecting an operator control unit, at least one outlet for connecting at least one fuel injector, at least one integrated circuit, as well as a microcontroller for controlling the integrated circuit, the integrated circuit and the microcontroller cooperating in a way that allows the fuel injector to be tested as a function of the type and/or subtype thereof, including at least the piezo type having the subtypes active high and active low.

To store information in a ferroelectric material, a sample probe is used to bring about mechanical action on individual domains and thereby to cause a reversal of polarization in the individual domains, with electrodes situated below the ferroelectric material being able to have a bias applied to them to stabilize the change/reversal of polarization. The reversal of polarization causes an alteration in the surface topography of the ferroelectric material, and this alteration can be used to read the information. The stored information is therefore obtained by ascertaining the surface topography of the ferroelectric material. The information is written and read using an AFM tip, with the tip being able to be operated in contact or tapping mode for the purpose of writing, and additionally in noncontact mode for the purpose of reading.
