A dual-fuel injector for a fuel injection device, including: a liquid fuel injector unit with a nozzle needle assigned to a liquid fuel nozzle arrangement of the dual-fuel injector and which is stroke controllable via a first control chamber; and a gas injector unit with a gas nozzle needle assigned to a gas nozzle arrangement of the dual-fuel injector and which is stroke controllable via a second control chamber. Each of the control chambers can be impinged with a control fluid to control the stroke of the respective nozzle needle. The control fluid from both the control chambers can be discharged. The dual-fuel injector has a control fluid reservoir in which discharged control fluid from the first control chamber can be introduced; the dual-fuel injector is configured to impinge the second control chamber with control fluid from the control fluid reservoir for the stroke control of the gas nozzle needle.

Dual-fuel injector

A flow limiting valve, comprising a valve body adjustable between a closed position and an open position, wherein in the open position a flow channel for a conveying fluid is opened in the flow limiting valve and in the closed position the flow channel is closed, whereby the adjustment of the valve body is subject to conveying fluid pressure; wherein a control valve is integrated into a housing of the flow limiting valve through which the valve body is adjustable between open and closed positions, regardless of the conveying fluid.

Flow limiting valve, in particular for a dual fuel injection system

In a dual-fuel fuel injector comprising a first injector unit for a first injector operating mode using a first main fuel and a second injector unit for a second injector operating mode using a second main fuel and an injector-reservoir, the reservoir is connected at one end to a first main fuel supply and at the opposite end to a second main fuel supply with a separating element disposed in the injector reservoir so as to be movable between the opposite ends so that, in each operating mode, the full volume of the reservoir can be used for accommodating the respective main fuel.

Dual fuel injector

A fuel injector for operation with combustible gas, having a gas nozzle assembly having at least one gas nozzle opening, and at least one gas nozzle needle associated with the gas nozzle assembly and accommodated in an axial holder so that the stroke of the gas nozzle needle can be controlled. Each gas nozzle opening leads out of the holder having a radial direction component at the nozzle end. The fuel injector has, in the holder, a needle seat upstream of the particular nozzle opening, which needle seat is provided for selectively blocking a combustible-gas flow path to the associated gas nozzle opening in interaction with the gas nozzle needle. The gas nozzle openings are distributed over part of the circumference in the circumferential direction of the gas nozzle needle. The holder, adjoining the needle seat and extending away therefrom axially in the upstream direction, is asymmetric with respect to an axial center axis through the gas nozzle needle. The asymmetry results from a cross-section expansion of the holder on a side of the holder that lies radially opposite the gas nozzle opening, such that a greater mass flow rate of combustible gas can be conducted in the holder by the crosssection expansion than on the gas nozzle opening side opposite thereto. The holder is also shaped to apply a flow direction oriented toward the radially opposite gas nozzle opening, already upstream of the needle seat and via the cross-section expansion, to a combustible-gas flow guided to the needle seat by the cross-section expansion.

Fuel injector for operation with combustible gas

A dual-fuel injection system having a combustion gas-supply device and a liquid fuel-supply device, including a combustion gas-injector unit with a liquid fuel-control part and a gas nozzle part, to which combustion gas can be supplied. The stroke of a gas nozzle needle of the combustion gas-injector unit can be controlled by liquid fuel supplied to the liquid fuel-control part. The combustion gas-injector unit defines a leakage collecting space, via which a leakage path is lead, the leakage path extending from the liquid fuel-control part into the gas nozzle part. The dual-fuel injection system has a pressure-regulating device, by which a defined pressure level can be set in the leakage collecting space. An implementation method using such a dual-fuel injection system is also proposed.

Two-fuel injection system and implementation method using same

The invention relates to a dual-fuel fuel injector that includes a plurality of stroke-controllable gas nozzle needles which are axially movably mounted on the dual fuel fuel-injector in a plurality of respective seats and which are distributed in a circumferential direction of the dual fuel fuel-injector, and a nozzle chamber provided for the plurality of stroke-controllable gas nozzle needles. The nozzle chamber includes a plurality of externally positioned bulges, wherein within each respective cross section of which an inlet cross section of a flow path is defined which can be blocked selectively via a respective stroke-controllable gas nozzle needle of the plurality of stroke-controllable gas nozzle needles to at least one nozzle opening.

Dual fuel fuel-injector

A dual fuel fuel-injector including a first nozzle body having a plurality of respective receptacles, a plurality of nozzle needles, each having a stroke that is controllable by a control fluid and at least one associated control chamber. The plurality of nozzle needles include a plurality of first nozzle needles, each being axially displaceable in the first nozzle body of the dual fuel fuel-injector for selective discharge of a first fuel, whereby the plurality of first nozzle needles are arranged in the first nozzle body in the plurality of respective receptacles. The dual fuel fuel-injector also includes a mixed leakage collecting channel communicatively connected to the plurality of respective receptacles, and a mixed leakage discharge channel on the dual fuel fuel-injector and in communication with the mixed leakage collecting channel.

A dual-fuel fuel injector, having: a first nozzle needle for discharge of liquid fuel via a first nozzle arrangement; and a multiplicity of second nozzle needles, arranged around the first nozzle needle and controlled in terms of axial stroke, for discharge of gaseous fuel via a second nozzle arrangement. Each of the second nozzle needles has for controlling the stroke thereof, a respective control chamber in the injector which can be charged with and relieved of pressure by a control fluid. The dual-fuel fuel injector has an annular duct which can be charged with and relieved of pressure by the control fluid. The dual-fuel fuel injector is designed such that, for controlling the stroke of the second nozzle needles, the control chambers for the second nozzle needles are charged with and relieved of pressure by the control fluid proceeding from the annular duct.

Dual-fuel fuel injector

Exemplary fuel injectors for use in fuel injection devices are disclosed. An injector may have a control chamber, which can be selectively relieved of pressure by means of a pilot valve in order to control a nozzle needle stroke of an axially displaceable nozzle needle of the injector. The fuel injector may have at least one nozzle on a first end, and the control chamber on a second end of the nozzle needle. The control chamber may be sub-divided by a throttle plate accommodated therein into a first chamber and a second chamber, with the second chamber being positioned closer to the nozzle, and the two chambers communicating with each other via the throttle plate. First and second resilient elements may be accommodated in a pre-stressed manner against the throttle plate in the first chamber and in the second chamber, respectively.
