A fluid diverter tool, system and method of diverting a fluid flow in a in a well, having: a tubular mandrel and a packer element affixed onto an exterior thereof and operable to sealingly engage an inside of a pipe body to divert a flow of a treatment fluid outwards through holes formed in the pipe bod; and a pressure relief device operable to open and relieve pressure from one side to another side of the packer element when exposed to a given pressure differential acting across the pressure relief device from said one side of the packer element, the pressure relief device also adapted to close when exposed to a lower than said given pressure differential acting thereacross from said one side of the packer element.

Fluid diverter tool, system and method of diverting a fluid flow in a well

A method is for isolation of a permeable zone in a subterranean well, wherein the well is provided with a pipe body. The method comprises lowering a perforation tool into the pipe body; forming holes in the pipe body along a longitudinal section; pumping a flushing fluid out through outlets in a flushing tool, into the pipe body and further out into an annulus; pumping a fluidized plugging material out through the flushing tool, into the pipe body and further out into the annulus; placing the fluidized plugging material along the longitudinal section so as to form a plug across the cross section of the well, whereby the plug fills the pipe body and the annulus; wherein at least one outlet in the flushing tool is angled non-perpendicularly relative to a longitudinal axis of the flushing tool, whereby a corresponding discharge jet also will be non-perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

Method for isolation of a permeable zone in a subterranean well

A method is for establishment of a new well path from a well. The method comprises disposing and anchoring a plug base in a casing in the well; lowering a perforation tool into the casing; forming holes in the casing along a longitudinal section; pumping a flushing fluid out through outlets in a flushing tool and into the casing and further out into an annulus; pumping a fluidized plugging material out through the flushing tool and into the casing and further out into the annulus; placing the fluidized plugging material along the longitudinal section so as to form a plug across a cross section of the well; wherein the outlets in the flushing tool are angled non-perpendicularly relative to a longitudinal axis of the flushing tool. The method also comprises removing a portion of the plug until a cross-sectional section of the plug remains in the annulus; disposing and anchoring a direction-guiding element in the casing within the longitudinal section; by means of the element, guiding a drilling tool against the inside of the casing; and forming an exit hole through the casing and the cross-sectional section of the plug, thereby allowing a new well path to be formed from the well.

Method for establishment of a new well path from an existing well

Disclosed embodiments may relate to devices or tools for diverting flow within a wellbore. For example, disclosed tool embodiments may allow for more efficiently cutting and pulling of casing from a wellbore during well abandonment operations, since diverting fluid flow as disclosed may allow for a single tool string trip to allow the flow patterns for both cutting and cleanup.

One-trip cut and pull system and apparatus

A method is for cutting of at least one line disposed along a pipe string in a well. The method includes (A), using a cutting tool for selective cutting activation and provided with at least one cut-forming means for cutting in a radial direction outward from the cutting tool; and (B) lowering the cutting tool to a longitudinal section where the cutting is to be carried out. In (A), a cutting tool is used for controlled cutting in a peripheral direction and distributed in an axial direction relative to the cutting tool. The method further includes (C), activating the cutting tool and cutting, in the radial direction through and past the wall of the pipe string, at least one peripherally extending hole collectively covering the entire circumference of the pipe string, and also distributing the hole in the axial direction.

Method for downhole cutting of at least one line disposed outside and along a pipe string in a well, and without simultaneously severing the pipe string

A method is for plugging a well wherein the well, at least along a longitudinal section to be plugged, is provided with one or more pipe bodies forming a radial boundary between the well and a surrounding formation. The method includes (D), lowering a flow-through string into the well and, by the flow-through string, supplying a fluidized plugging material along the longitudinal section in the well, and at least within the innermost of said one or more pipe bodies in the well. The method, before step (D), also comprises (A), lowering one or more explosive charges into the well and onto the longitudinal section to be plugged, and detonating one or more of said explosive charges so as to extend the diameter of one or more of said pipe bodies at one or more places along the longitudinal section to be plugged. A system is for plugging a well.

Method and system for plugging a well and use of explosive charges in plugging wells

A hydraulic cutting tool, a system, and a method are for hydraulic cutting through a pipe wall of a pipe body. For this purpose, the cutting tool is provided with at least one cutting section comprising at least one fluid discharge body. Each such fluid discharge body comprises at least two outwardly directed discharge openings having non-parallel discharge directions directed at a common intersection point located outside the fluid discharge body. The cutting is carried out by means of an abrasive fluid being supplied, via a flow-through pipe string, to the at least one fluid discharge body from a remote location. Thereby, abrasive cutting jets will discharge at high velocity from the fluid discharge body so as to meet and disperse in the intersection point, thus weakening the further cutting ability of the cutting jets.
