A method for controlling an internal combustion engine provides that the internal combustion engine is operated based on a first injection pattern in a first operating state, and based on a second injection pattern in a second operating state. At least one parameter of the injection patterns in the transition from the first to the second operating state is selected in such a way that the noise emission remains constant. In the transition to the injection pattern having greater noise, first the at least one parameter of the first injection pattern is varied, whereupon the switchover takes place. In the transition to the injection pattern having the lower noise, first the switchover is implemented, whereupon the at least one parameter of the second injection pattern is varied.

Method, a computer program, an electronic storage medium, and an electronic control unit for controlling an internal combustion engine

A method for learning and determining a minimum injector-specific electric actuation duration for at least one fuel injector of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle. Starting with a predefined electric actuation duration which definitely does not result in an injection, the electric actuation duration is gradually increased in each engine stop and/or in each engine start in successive engine stops and/or in successive engine starts of the internal combustion engine up to an actuation duration in which an injection with a combustion occurs, and then this actuation duration may be determined as the minimum electric actuation duration. The invention also relates to a corresponding device.

In a method for controlling a hybrid drive which is driven by an internal combustion engine designed as a first drive unit, and by a second drive unit, the internal combustion engine and the second drive unit contribute individually or jointly to the drive of the vehicle, and pollutant emissions are kept at the lowest possible level in all operating states of the hybrid drive. The method stands out in that the adjustment is performed so that a rate of a change in the actual value does not exceed a specified boundary value during the adjustment. Method for adjusting a fuel pressure

A method for maintaining and/or adjusting a system pressure in a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine, in which the internal combustion engine is a part of an hybrid power train, which includes in addition at least one further drive. A system pressure in a reservoir element of the fuel injection system is monitored using a pressure sensor. In operating modes in which the internal combustion engine is shut down and/or is separated from the hybrid power train, the maintaining or the adjusting of the system pressure takes place via a pressure-regulating valve. The activation of the pressure-regulating valve takes place directly or indirectly via a control unit or a vehicle control unit or a clutch control unit.

Pressure-maintaining function in a fully hybrid drive

A procedure to operate a hybrid-electric power train and a device to implement the procedure are proposed. The hybrid-electric power train contains at least one internal combustion engine and at least one electromotor, which together supply a drive torque, respectively a driving power output, for a motor vehicle. At a power output demand on the hybrid-electric power train, which corresponds at least to a lower power output threshold, the internal combustion engine is operated constantly at least approximately at the full load.

Method for operating a hybrid drive and device for carrying out said method

Devices and methods for the production of ammonia as a reducing agent for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas of a combustion source, especially of an internal combustion engine. The ammonia is admixed with the exhaust gas in the direction of flow in front of a SCR-catalytic converter. In so doing, nitrogen oxide is produced in a nitrogen oxide production unit separated from the combustion source and its exhaust gas duct and is stored in at least one storage catalytic converter or a nitrogen oxide storage and a subsequently connected catalytic converter. Furthermore, hydrogen and/or a hydrogen-carbon monoxide-mixture is produced in a hydrogen production unit separated from the combustion source and its exhaust gas duct and delivered to a storage catalytic converter. Hydrogen and the stored nitrogen oxide are converted catalytically to ammonia in the storage catalytic converter or in the catalytic converter.

Device and procedure for the production of ammonia

A method for operating a particulate filter situated in an exhaust gas area of an internal combustion engine and a device for carrying out the method are described. A measure of the particulate matter burn-off rate is detected for influencing and/or monitoring the particulate matter burn-off rate or for influencing and/or monitoring the particulate filter temperature. A secondary air flow supplied by a secondary air pump is blown into the exhaust gas area upstream from the particulate filter. The secondary air flow is determined as a function of the detected measure of the particulate matter burn-off rate. If necessary, the secondary air flow may be enriched by an oxygen flow or nitrogen flow supplied by an air separation unit. The method prevents the particulate filter from being damaged by an unacceptably high particulate matter burn-off rate or an unacceptably high particulate filter temperature.
