A connecting device for media lines including a coupling element, an insert part and a fastening element. The coupling element has a connection opening and a fluid channel; the insert part can be inserted into the connection opening; and the insert part can be fastened to the coupling element by the fastening element. The fastening element also has at least one control surface. When the insert part is inserted into the connection opening under the action of an installation force, the insert part acts upon the control surface in such a way that the fastening element is moved against a restoring force. If the installation force is sufficient, the insert part slides past the control surface and the fastening element interlockingly locks the insertion part. If the installation force is not sufficient, the fastening element presses the insert part back out of the connection opening.

Connecting device for media lines

A construction system for a connection arrangement for media lines, wherein the connection arrangement has a connection body with a receiving opening for a media line and with internal parts for interacting with the media line and providing axial guidance, mechanical locking to prevent detachment, peripheral sealing and, where applicable, internal radial support. Various internal parts can optionally be inserted into the connection body, which is designed to be identical in respect of the internal contour of the receiving opening, and for a particular maximum external line diameter, in order to adapt to at least two dissimilar media lines having different cross-sectional dimensions. The internal parts are adapted, on the one hand, to the permanently identical internal contour of a receiving opening of the connection body and, on the other hand, to the cross-sectional dimension of one of the dissimilar media lines.

Construction system for a connection arrangement for media lines

The valve device consists, according to the invention, of (at least) two part valves which are symmetrical in circuit terms with respect to the existing connections and which are designed, in particular, as four-way, two position valves of any desired type of construction, but preferably are provided as slide valves. There is preferably a double slide valve with two cooperating slide valves. The valve device features internal seals and sealing surfaces which minimize wear and damage to the seals as they move across flow ports. The valve device is particularly adapted for use as a fuel control valve for an internal combustion powered motor vehicle having two separate fuel tanks. The valve device permits control over which tank supplies fuel to the engine, and allows controlled mixing of the fuels from each tank.
