A pipe, the inner surface of which is lined with a thermoplastic layer, is produced by a process comprising the following steps: Relative movements between the metal pipe and inliner are thereby prevented; the inliner also has high safety against collapse. The pipe is used to produce a routed pipeline.

Method for producing a pipe lined with an inner liner

A corrosion protected metal pipe for installation in an offshore structure or for producing a pipeline laid in water is provided. The metal pipe has an at least two-layer covering on the pipe with a lower layer facing the pipe and an upper layer on a side of the lower layer not facing the pipe is provided. The layers are formed such that the lower layer is electrically conductive and the upper layer is electrically insulating, the lower layer is optically contrasting to the upper layer, or the lower layer is electrically conducting and optically contrasting to the upper layer and the upper layer is electrically insulating. Thus, in the event of damage to the layer or layers lying above, a visual or electrical signal can be detected. Damage to the corrosion protection covering can therefore be detected easily and, if appropriate, reported by remote monitoring.

The foundation structure of an offshore structure, for example of an offshore wind energy system, is composed of steel tubes sheathed by an extruded layer made of a polyamide moulding composition. This simultaneously ensures both good protection from corrosion and good protection from mechanical effects, giving the foundation structure markedly prolonged lifetime.

A method for coating of a metallic article is provided. According to the method, the metal surface is coated with a composition which comprises a polymer or comprises a two-component system that reacts to form a polymer following application to the metal surface. The composition comprises 70-2700 meq/kg olefinic double bonds which leads to stronger adhesion and to increased corrosion resistance.

A thermoplastic board () comprising at least one smooth side edge () is produced by means of extrusion. The side edge of a synthetic web is heated at least to its melting temperature following calibration while the peripheral surface zones are kept at a temperature below the softening temperature by cooling. A smoothing device () for a side edge of the thermoplastic board encompasses a guiding groove () that is provided with at least one heating means (), located within the face (), and at least one respective cooling means () located within the side surfaces () that face each other. A cutting edge () of a synthetic board () that can be guided inside the guiding groove () rests against the face () while the peripheral surface zones () thereof lean against the side surfaces ().
