The invention is directed to an adjusting device for a throttle pull of an internal combustion engine for a portable handheld work apparatus. A pull wire ( ) of the throttle pull acts on the carburetor ( ) of the engine. The carburetor ( ) is attached to the inlet of the engine with a spacer ( ) disposed therebetween. A tension piece ( ) of the adjusting device is pivotally journalled on the spacer ( ) by a bolt. The pull wire ( ) lies with a segment thereof on the outwardly pivotable arm of the tension piece ( ). The position of the tension piece can be adjusted with the adjusting screw ( ). The adjusting screw can be screwed out of the pivot arm axially in the direction toward a support. The tension piece ( ) is configured as one piece with the bolt ( ) and is securely held with a form-tight holding arrangement in the axial direction of the bolt ( ). The adjusting device is cost-effective and provides for a reliable and precise adjustment.

Adjusting device for a throttle pull of an internal combustion engine

A starter mechanism for an internal combustion engine for a motor-driven, manually-guided implement is provided. A clutch drum is rotatably mounted about a journal pin on a housing of the implement. The clutch drum is fixedly connected with a carrier of a ratchet for transfer of drive torque from the drum to the motor shaft. For the reversible engagement of the ratchet in a clutch member fixedly connected with the motor shaft, the ratchet has a pawl on the carrier that, with the aid of a guide element resting against a pawl pin, pivots during a starting process. On that side facing away from the carrier the pawl is spanned by an abutment element, at least in the region of its pivot axis.

Starter mechanism for an internal combustion engine

A manually guided implement having an air-cooled internal combustion engine for driving a tool is provided. The engine is disposed in a housing, with cooling air being conveyed by a fan wheel that is fixedly held on the crankshaft of the engine and that is accommodated in a cooling air spiral case that is open toward the engine. Formed in the housing is an air inlet via which ambient air can be drawn into the cooling air spiral case. A base of the spiral case is disposed between the fan wheel and the engine and is provided with a second cooling air inlet that provides communication between the interior of the housing and portions of the cooling air spiral case that convey cooling air.

Manually guided implement

A manually guided implement having an air-cooled internal combustion engine for driving a tool is provided. Disposed between an output shaft of the internal combustion engine and the tool is a centrifugal clutch, whereby a flywheel portion of the clutch and a fan wheel are fixedly disposed on the output shaft. The flywheel portion is secured on a suction side of the fan wheel that is provided with guide vanes.

The available space within the apparatus housing ( ) in the portable handheld work apparatus is limited so that the individual components have to be accommodated in a tight space. In work apparatus having internal combustion engines, this means that the carburetor ( ) is flange connected directly to the engine block ( ) in the region of the inlet opening ( ). A spacer ( ) is provided in order to avoid unfavorable heat effects on the carburetor ( ) and to provide an advantageous mounting position. The spacer ( ) is positioned between the engine ( ) and the carburetor ( ). The spacer ( ) has a channel section ( ) which runs diagonally to the respective flange planes ( ) of the spacer ( ). This channel section ( ) connects the intake channel ( ) of the carburetor ( ) to the inlet opening ( ) of the engine ( ).
