A fan arrangement () has a fan () driven by an electric motor (), also an apparatus for detecting the electrical power (P) consumed by the electric motor () during operation; an input apparatus () for inputting a desired rotation speed (n) of said electric motor (); a converter () for converting said desired rotation speed (n) into a desired electrical power (P); and a controller (), which regulates the control input controlling the electric motor () in such a way that the difference between the electrical power (P) consumed in operation and the desired electrical power (P) is reduced, in order thereby to improve the air output characteristic curve () of the fan arrangement () at least in a portion of the overall operating range.
