A fairing attachment system for a wing of an aircraft includes a high lift support structure configured to movably support a high-lift airfoil element of a wing of an aircraft relative to the wing. The system includes a fairing device extending in a lengthwise direction, configured to provide an aerodynamic housing of the high lift support structure when attached to a surface of the wing, and an adjustable attachment element configured to attach the fairing device to the high lift support structure. The adjustable attachment element is longitudinally extending and adjustable in length to compensate for tolerances of the high lift support structure relative to the wing during assembly. An aircraft wing includes the fairing attachment system. The fairing attachment system is used in a method for mounting a fairing device to a wing of an aircraft.

A support stay is provided to improve failsafe configurations for movable parts of an aircraft. The support stay supports the movable part with a primary body and a separate secondary body. The primary body and the secondary body provide separate load paths. The secondary body is attached to the primary body by a mechanical connection, e.g., rivets. If one of the bodies becomes structurally compromised, for example by a crack, this configuration does not transfer shear load between the primary and secondary body, so that the other body does not become structurally compromised.

A flap support for supporting a flap of a wing for an aircraft is disclosed and includes a load bearing fairing shell and a reinforcement structure at least partially received in the interior space of the fairing structure and mounted to the first and second side wall portions of the fairing shell. The fairing shell includes a front attachment device configured for attachment to a main wing, and the reinforcement structure includes an aft attachment device configured for attachment to the main wing. The flap support further includes a hinge device configured for forming an articulated connection to the flap.

A flap system driving a leading-edge flap between retracted and extended positions comprises a leading-edge flap having first and second flap joints, first and second scissor links, a first connecting link, and an actuator. The actuator couples with either the first scissor link or first connecting link. The first scissor link is rotatable supported on a first fixed point by a first support joint. An end of the first scissor link opposite the first support joint couples with the first flap joint. The first connecting link is rotatably supported on a second fixed point by a second support joint. An end of the first connecting link opposite the second support joint rotatably couples with an end of the second scissor link. An opposite end of the second scissor link couples with the second flap joint. The first and second scissor links are rotatably coupled to form a scissor arrangement.

System for driving a flap arrangement between a retracted position and an extended position

A wing system () for an aircraft includes a movable flow body () and a cover panel (), wherein the flow body () and the cover panel () both are movably supported on a main wing body (). While the flow body () is actively driven into upwards or downwards deflected positions, the cover panel () is coupled with the flow body () to follow its motion. The cover panel covers a part of the flow body () and the main wing body () in order to provide a substantially continuous, closed outer contour.

A flap system driving a leading-edge flap between retracted and extended positions comprises a leading-edge flap, an actuator, first, second and third fixed links, first and second connecting links, and an auxiliary link. The first, second and third fixed links are rotatably supported on respective first, second and third structurally fixed points by respective first, second and third support joints. The first fixed link couples with an end of the first connecting link, which is coupled with a first flap joint at another end. The second fixed link rotatably couples with a central region of the first connecting link. The third fixed link rotatably couples with an end of the second connecting link, which is coupled with a second flap joint at another end. The second connecting link couples with the first fixed link through the auxiliary link, each at positions inside of the respective ends.

A linkage mechanism for a flaperon includes a support structure linkage, a droop panel linkage, and a flaperon linkage. The support structure linkage is pivotally attached to a support structure of a wing of an aircraft. The droop panel linkage is pivotally attached a droop panel. The flaperon linkage is pivotally attached to a flaperon. A second end of the droop panel linkage and a second end of the flaperon linkage are pivotally attached to a connecting section of the support structure linkage. The connecting section is spaced apart from the pivot end of the support structure linkage such that the linkage mechanism transfers a pivoting motion from the flaperon into a pivoting motion of the droop panel.

An aerofoil wing with a main aerofoil, a high-lift flap movably arranged on the aerofoil wing by adjustment mechanisms. Each of the adjustment mechanisms including a first adjustment lever hinged to the main aerofoil via a first rotary linkage, with the formation of a first axis of rotation, a second adjustment lever hinged to the high-lift flap via a second rotary linkage, with the formation of a second axis of rotation, and a central linkage, with the formation of a third axis of rotation, such that the first, second and third axes of rotation pass through a common pole. The aerofoil wing further includes a drive device with a drive module mounted on the main aerofoil, and movable with respect to the drive module a drive lever coupled to the high-lift flap, and a stop device to limit the maximum extended setting of the high-lift flap.

A wing, having an adjustable flap that can be moved between a retracted and an extended setting is provided, as well as a gap-covering device, with an adjustment lever and a gap-covering flap arranged on the latter with a flow surface. The adjustment lever with the gap-covering flap is pre-loaded by means of a pre-loading device into a first setting, in which the gap-covering flap is located in the interior of the wing. The adjustable flap and the adjustment lever with the gap-covering flap are mechanically coupled such that as the adjustable flap moves into its retracted setting, a movement of the adjustment lever takes place against the pre-load effected by the pre-loading device, into a second setting. The flow surface of the gap-covering flap in the second setting of the adjustment lever runs between the upper side of the retracted adjustable flap and the wing flow surface.
