A feedback control method accounts for noise emissions of a centrifuge for the operation of a centrifuge, in particular a separator or a decanting centrifuge, for the centrifugal processing of a product, in particular for clarifying a product and/or for separating a product into different liquid phases using the drum.

Feedback control method for the operation of a centrifuge

A method is provided for clarifying a flowable starting product with a separator having a feed and at least one liquid discharge for continuously discharging at least one clarified liquid phase&#x2014;a clear phase&#x2014;and with discontinuously openable solid-discharge openings for discontinuously discharging the solid phase. The method involves the steps: a. setting or determining a starting time; b. repeatedly determining at least one actual value of a product-parameter of the clear phase derived from the drum; c. determining the time interval until the product-parameter actual value reaches or exceeds a product-parameter limit value; d. preferably initiating a solid discharge as a result of reaching or exceeding the product-parameter limit value; e. determining and setting an operating time interval by using the determined calibrating time interval, the operating time interval being less than or greater than the ascertained calibrating time interval; and f. initiating at least one or more solid discharges each time the set operating time interval has elapsed.

Method for clarifying a flowable product with a centrifuge having discontinuously openable solid-discharge openings

A solid-bowl centrifuge comprising, a centrifugal drum rotatable about a horizontal axis of rotation, the centrifugal drum including a weir to drain a liquid out of the centrifugal drum, the weir including a passage having at least one passage opening in an axial end region of the centrifugal drum that includes a drum lid: a deflector plate arranged outside the centrifugal drum and in front of the drum lid, the deflector plate being stationary during an operation of the centrifugal drum and widening at least in sections as the deflector plate extends away from the centrifugal drum: and the deflector plate including an interior jacket, and a distance of the interior jacket from the horizontal axis of rotation not being constant but widening.

A method for separating a multi-phase mixture () into a liquid phase () and a dry phase () with a specified dry matter concentration. A decanting centrifuge () with an annular immersion disk () and a weir arranged at an end face of a centrifuge drum () are used. After start-up of the centrifuge drum (), the multi-phase mixture () is introduced into the centrifuge drum (). The dry phase () and the liquid phase () are drawn off. The liquid level in the centrifuge drum (), is controlled by the weir and compared to a tolerance range until the specified dry matter concentration is reached. The weir is positioned so reaction to concentration changes in the multi-phase mixture () is possible in both directions. The speed of the centrifuge drum () is lowered incrementally and the weir position adjusted, so the dry phase concentration remains constant.

Method for the separation of multi-phase mixture and decanting centrifuge system for carrying out said method

The invention relates to a method for controlling machines (), especially decanters and separators, according to which operational states (), such as current consumption, temperature, conveying speeds, etc. are detected on the machine and are compiled and stored in a computer (). The data is subsequently transmitted to a second computer () in order to be able to analyze this data. The analysis involves the comparison of the actual state with a set state in order to, in the case of a deviation located outside of the tolerance zone, generate an error message that is then automatically output by the second computer () to a peripheral unit and/or to additional computers. To this end, an adaptive multi-layer mathematical model of the machine and of the process is generated. According to the invention, an information system for operating a machine () is also provided with which the control method can be executed. Potential error states on the machine can be identified early by the automatic detection and relaying of the operational states so that they can be intervened with before damage occurs.
