A protective device enables reliably cutting a drive region off the power supply of a guided vehicle. The drive region is connectible to the power supply via at least one drive region switch and it comprises stator sections that are strung together. The sections are connectible to a drive region supply line by way of a stator section switch. The protective device has a control unit for opening at least one switch in the event of a malfunction. The object is to provide a protective device that is inexpensive and that allows a flexible allocation of the power supply to the drive regions. For this purpose, the control is adapted to open all stator section switches and the one or more drive regions switches in the event of a malfunction.

A system includes a plurality of electrical switches. Every switch is associated with at least one monitoring device for detecting the respective switching condition of the switch. All of the monitoring devices are interconnected through a data connection through which the switching conditions of all of the switches are made known to every monitoring device.

A device for controlling and monitoring an installation that is composed of sequentially disposed sub-sections in a chain so that each sub-section lies between a forward sub-section and a rearward sub-section, with the exception of the terminal sub-sections of the installation. Each sub-section is connected to a first control unit and a second control unit and the control units of the sub-sections communicate at least partially with one another, with the sub-sections, and/or with a higher-level control center. Increased safety requirements are satisfied with the novel device, while at the same time being cost-effective, in that the first control unit is also connected to the forward sub-section and the second control unit is also connected to the rearward sub-section.

Device for controlling and monitoring sequential subsections of an installation

A device for driving a magnetic levitation train has at least one controllable power supply unit that feeds at least one multi-phase power supply line, and a long stator with stator windings that extend in switching sections of the long stator. Each switching section can be connected to at least one of the power supply lines via an assigned section feed switch and each stator winding has at least one assigned current sensor for detecting a current and at least one assigned evaluation unit connected to the sensor. In order to permit a simple, precise overcurrent protection, each current sensor is configured to detect the current in one phase of each assigned stator winding and the evaluation unit is configured to deactivate the section feed switch, if the current detected in each case exceeds a previously defined threshold value.

Detection and delimitation of maximum stator currents

A drive system for a vehicle moving along a trackway, particularly a magnetic levitation train, includes a linear motor which has a stator extending along the trackway, and can be connected to a three-phase output voltage of an output transformer. An electrical power supply supplies a three-phase supply voltage which is converted into a three-phase alternating voltage of predeterminable frequency and amplitude by a converter unit. The alternating voltage being connected to the primary winding of an output transformer. To provide for more differentiated power adaptation it is proposed that the secondary winding of the common output transformer be provided with taps which, in transformer mode, can be connected and disconnected by a stepping switch for adjusting and correcting the desired output voltage.

Drive system for a vehicle moving along a trackway, particularly a magnetic levitation train

A turn-on interlock for propelling a vehicle, in particular a magnetic levitation train (maglev), along a track is disclosed, as well as a drive incorporating the turn-on interlock. A stator of a linear motor forming the drive and extending along the track is divided into a plurality of stator sections which can be sequentially connected to an electric power source for propelling the vehicle. Each stator section has one or more feed switches for connecting the stator section to an electric power source, and signaling elements ganged with the feed switches. The turn-on interlock prevents more than one stator section from being connected to the power source at any given time. A stator section can only be connected if all signaling elements or all signaling elements of at least a predetermined subset of the signaling elements indicate an 'open' switching state of the feed switch.
