The present invention relates to an energy storage device, comprising a switchgear cabinet housing in which a plurality of receiving spaces are provided, in which receiving spaces at least one control device and a variable number of electrical storage blocks are accommodated in an exchangeable manner, wherein the storage blocks can be selectively interconnected in series or in parallel and are connected to power connections by means of a current controller. Therefore, it is initially proposed to form the control device which is installed in the switchgear cabinet housing and the associated power electronics components themselves in a reconfigurable or variable manner in order to allow the controller and power electronics to be matched to another mode of operation or another application, without having to exchange the control and power electronics module and provide corresponding wiring for this purpose.

Energy storage device

Electric drive devices having at least one power electronics module including at least one voltage circuit having power electronics components such as a converter, transformer, frequency inverter, power capacitor, circuit breaker and the like, and at least one fuse for interrupting the voltage circuit in the event of excess currents and/or voltages. The invention also relates to a wind turbine and similar large industrial electrical systems having such a drive device. The device can comprise at least one pyrotechnic fuse with a propellant charge for the irreversible interruption of the voltage circuit, wherein the pyrotechnic fuse is arranged in the voltage circuit of the power electronics module or immediately adjacent to at least one power electronics component such as a converter, frequency inverter, transformer, power capacitor or circuit breaker.

Power electronics with isolating fuse

An energy system is specified, which comprises a wind power turbine or water power turbine, which is connected to a generator, with the generator having at least two stator windings. In order to achieve a simple and robust design without a transformer, each stator winding has an associated rectifier unit, and each stator winding is connected to the AC voltage side of the associated rectifier unit. Furthermore, each rectifier unit has a respective associated energy storage circuit, and each rectifier unit is connected in parallel on the DC voltage side to the associated energy storage circuit, with the energy storage circuits being connected to one another in series.
