A lighting device for a vehicle headlamp includes a plurality of light sources; a first lens element (FLE) downstream of the light sources; and a second lens element (SLE) downstream of the FLE. A light receiving surface (LRS) of the FLE is formed by a main-area and a sub-area. The light sources and LRS are distanced to each other whereby a first fraction of light is emitted towards the sub-area and a second fraction is emitted towards the main-area. The light sources, FLE, and SLE are configured to create a complete or partial, preferably adaptive, high beam light distribution with two sections. The sub-area and main-area are configured to refract impinging light, wherein refraction of light by the sub-area and main-area is such that a first intensity maximum of a first section is vertically lower in front of the lighting device than a second intensity maximum of the second section.

The sensor element () is designed to sense light beams from the second illuminant () in order to obtain a value, and to transmit said value to the control device (), which compares the value with a threshold value stored in a memory. Switching on of the first illuminant () is prevented when the threshold value is reached, or the first illuminant () is switched on when the threshold value is fallen below.

The invention relates to a vehicle headlamp (), comprising a light source unit (), a controllable reflector (), an optically transparent cover (), an optical absorber device (), an optical shielding element (), and a projection optics (). An optical structure for a lighting device of a motor vehicle headlight is disclosed. The optical structure is paired with or is a part of the lighting device such that it modifies a light distribution produced by the lighting device. The optical structure () includes two, three or more optical structural elements. Each structural element has a light-scattering effect. A first proportion of the structural elements is formed in such a way that beams generated by the lighting device and impinging on this first proportion of the structural elements pass through the proportion of the structural elements. Each beam is refracted by the relevant structural element to form a first exit beam, to form a second exit beam, and to form at least one further exit beam.

LED light module

The invention relates to an LED light module () for a motor vehicle or for a headlamp for a motor vehicle, wherein the light module () comprises a lens () and at least one primary LED light source (). A light tunnel () for direct passage of at least a portion of the light emitted from the at least one primary LED light sconce () is provided between the at least one primary LED light source () and the lens (), viewed in the direction of the light emission. The light of the at least one primary LED light source () emerging through the light tunnel () is projected via the lens () to generate a main beam function or a contribution to a main beam function in the region in front of the motor vehicle. The light tunnel () is formed from a material that is transparent at least in some areas, preferably in the whole area thereof, and a holder () for holding the light tunnel () is provided, wherein the holder () is transparent at least in some areas, preferably completely transparent. At least one secondary LED light source () is provided and is arranged in such a way in relation to the light tunnel () that the light emitted from the at least one secondary LED light source () is emitted substantially onto the holder (), and wherein the wall (') bounding the light tunnel () is light-reflecting at least in some areas.
