A user device may cause light to be emitted at a security article by one or more light emission devices of the user device. The user device may obtain from a first set of one or more optical sensor devices of the user device first sensor data associated with the security article, and may obtain from a second set of one or more optical sensor devices of the user device second sensor data associated with the security article. The user device may determine, based on the first sensor data and the second sensor data, one or more characteristics of a security feature of the security article. The user device may determine, based on the one or more characteristics of the security feature, whether the security article is authentic. The user device may cause, based on determining whether the security article is authentic, one or more actions to be performed.

Security article authentication

An optical filter, a sensor device including the optical filter, and a method of fabricating the optical filter are provided. The optical filter includes one or more dielectric layers and one or more metal layers stacked in alternation. The metal layers are intrinsically protected by the dielectric layers. In particular, the metal layers have tapered edges that are protectively covered by one or more of the dielectric layers.

A device may include a sensor window. The sensor window may include a substrate. The sensor window may include a set of layers disposed onto the substrate. The set of layers may include a first subset of layers of a first refractive index and a second set of layers of a second refractive index different from the first refractive index. The set of layers may be associated with a threshold transmissivity in a sensing spectral range, and may be configured to a particular color in a visible spectral range and associated with a threshold opacity in the visible spectral range. The device may include a spectral sensor device aligned to the sensor window and including at least one sensor element to receive light in the sensing spectral range and provide a plurality of sensing functionalities based on at least one measurement of the light in the sensing spectral range.

An optical filter may include a monolithic substrate. The optical filter may include a first component filter disposed onto a first region of the monolithic substrate. The first component filter may be a near infrared (NIR) bandpass filter. The optical filter may include a second component filter disposed onto a second region of the monolithic substrate. The second component filter may include a red-green-blue (RGB) bandpass filter. A separation between the first component filter and the second component filter may be less than approximately 50 micrometers (&#x3bc;m).
