A lighting device for a motor vehicle including a processing module which is configured to receive and process signals of a data bus of the motor vehicle and send a data signal. The lighting device also includes an LED unit configured to emit light, when operational, with an adjustable brightness and a predefined color location. The LED unit has a microcontroller and a plurality of LEDs, and the microcontroller and the plurality of LEDs are surrounded by a housing of the LED unit. Furthermore, the processing module is configured to convert the data signal, which contains control information for the LED unit, into a pulse width-modulated signal of the current supplied to the individual LEDs and to verify whether the pulse width-modulated signal contains information corresponding to the control information for the LED unit.

Aerodynamic blade attachment for a bearingless rotor of a helicopter

A rotor blade arrangement includes a rotor blade with a hollow blade chamber therein, and a flap module removably arranged and secured in the blade chamber. The flap module includes a module housing received in the blade chamber, an actuator arranged in the housing, a flap pivotably arranged at an edge of the housing, and a power transmission linkage connecting the actuator to the flap. The module housing is inserted through an opening into the blade chamber, so that the flap protrudes and forms a continuation of the aerodynamic contour of the blade. The flap may be a trailing edge flap at the trailing edge or a leading edge nose flap at the leading edge of the blade. The flap module does not change the center of gravity of the blade. The entire flap module can be easily removed from the blade for adjustment, inspection, maintenance, repair or replacement.

A supporting structure for a solar sail of a satellite is formed by support arms which are connected in a swiveling manner with a solar panel through unfolding joints, and a film is stretched between the support arms. A longitudinal connector is arranged parallel to one side edge of the solar panel, which has support arms that are arranged in a joint direction in the plane of the film and form at least one U-shaped supporting structure between which the film of the solar sail can be stretched. Corner connectors are arranged in the interior angle areas between the longitudinal connector and the support arms. This arrangement simplifies known constructions while maintaining the existing functional safety in order to allow for achieving a noticeable weight reduction.

Supporting structure for a solar sail of a satellite

A solar generator for use in satellites or spacecraft includes a plurality of solar cells mounted on a support structure panel. The support structure panel includes a honeycomb cell structure core (4) sandwiched between a bottom cover skin (5) and a top cover skin (2). Vibration damping elements (11) are incorporated and bonded into the honeycomb core, and vibration damping film strips (10) are adhesively bonded onto an outer surface of at least one of the outer cover skins. The damping elements (11) respectively include a damping ring (13) made of an elastomeric material, between inner and outer structural rings (14, 12), whereby the outer ring is bonded to the honeycomb core and the inner ring provides a mounting location. The damping film strips are positioned at locations of maximum vibrational excitation in the panel due to noise pressure loading. The damping elements damp vibrations in the range from 30 Hz to 100 Hz, and the damping film strips damp noise pressure loads in the frequency range from 150 Hz to 500 Hz.
