The invention relates to a wheel hub ( ) for a running wheel of bicycle comprising a wheel hub axis ( ), a wheel hub sleeve ( ) having spoke flanges ( ), and at least one bearing ( ) located between the wheel hub axle ( ) and the wheel hub sleeve ( ), whereby arrangements are made for fixing the rotating part of a brake system, especially of a brake disk. Said arrangements consist of an adapter provided with fixing boreholes for fixing the brake disk and provided with an inner profile ( ) which, on the wheel hub sleeve ( ), can be connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a profile which is arranged on the wheel hub sleeve in a rotative manner and which is adapted to the inner profile. The invention is advantageous in that a universal wheel hub sleeve is produced which can be equipped either with or without a brake disk on which, however, the rotating part of another type of brake device can be applied.

Wheel hub for bicycles

A twist-grip shift mechanism that includes a housing part, a rotating part and a ring disposed in the rotating part. The housing part includes a cylindrical extension and a housing extension. The rotating part is rotatably mounted on the cylindrical extension. The cylindrical extension has tongues with retaining profiles extending from one end of the cylindrical extension for releaseably connecting to the ring. The tongues and the retaining profiles do not extend beyond an outer diameter of the cylindrical extension so that the housing part may be formed by an injection molding process using a single half of an injection mold, thereby eliminating undercuts and other molding inaccuracies.

A selector for a bicycle gear mechanism. The selector has a housing fastened to a portion of a bicycle frame, a cable inlet, and a rotatable drum having a control cable wound onto for effecting cable travel. The selector also includes a rotary bushing for operating the selector and a mechanism for superimposing a correction or overshift travel on the cable travel. The mechanism includes a pivoting lever for guiding the control cable and a correction cam having a profile configured to provide the requisite correction travel for each gear stage as the rotatable drum is rotated.

Selector for a bicycle gear mechanism

A gearshift for bicycle gears includes an operating lever arranged so as to be rotatable around a stationary central axis for controlling an operating part arranged in a housing. The operating part is also rotatable around the central axis and has a take-up groove for receiving a gear-shifting cable, whereby a latch interacts with a tooth mechanism on the operating part for winding the cable. The gearshift further includes a release-and-hold mechanism consisting of a first latching disk having a first latching segment and a second latching disk having a second latching segment connected to the operating part, and of a release lever that interacts alternately with the first latching segment and the second latching segment. Arranged on the release lever are a first latching lug and a second latching lug, which alternately engage with the first latching segment and the second latching segment. The release lever is mounted pivotally about a rotational axis arranged substantially perpendicularly relative to the central axis in a stationary fashion. An advantage of the invention lies in the simple operability of the operating lever and the release lever, whereby attention has been given to the ergonomics of the lever that the bicycle gear can be shifted under any circumstances, even when the operating hand of a bicyclist is being used for operating a brake lever.

A twist-grip shifter for bicycles having a twist grip, which twist grip includes an outer grip part and an inner twist part. The twist grip has an area with a small diameter, a transitional area, and an area with a large diameter, and the twist grip can be positively and detachably connected to a twist grip shifter in the axial direction. The twist grip can have an elastic rubber grip part and a non-elastic rotary part, and can have a surface structure with root-like, sharp ribs on the external surface of the grip part. The surface structure on the grip part has the advantage that the fins or peaks extend axially along the surface lines, and fit into the bends underneath the joints of the index finger, to essentially guarantee the optimum transmission of torque from the hand of the rider to the twist grip.

Twist-grip shifter for bicycles

An index shifter for a bicycle transmission, which index shifter is mounted on a part of a bicycle and has a casing, a locking element with notches which is connected to a rotary hand grip, and a winding drum for actuating a cable pull. The casing has a ring-shaped recess disposed therein, in which recess a detent spring is arranged. The detent spring is braced by two feet against the casing and has a lug which engages with the locking ring. Inside the casing is a casing projection with which one foot of the detent spring can be fixed to achieve a small amount of shift play. This permits small amounts of shift play, in particular for shifting hub gears on bicycles.

Index shifter for bicycle transmissions

A shifter for the actuation of bicycle transmissions designed to be installed primarily on a handlebar of a bicycle. The shifter can have a stationary housing and a rotational housing that are connected together to form a single assembled unit. A traction cable having a nipple on one end can be inserted into t he first end of a passageway in the single assembled unit. The passageway is sized such that the nipple and the traction cable may both pass through the passageway. The nipple end and traction cable can be pushed through the passageway until the nipple end comes out of the other end of the passageway. The nipple can then be fastened to the rotational housing without having to dismantle the single assembled unit.

A gear-change switch, particularly a stepping switch for controlling gears on bicycles or similar vehicles, has a fixed housing and an actuating element rotatably mounted for rotation in the clockwise and counterclockwise directions to tension or release a traction cable for controlling the bicycle gears. The actuation element comprises a thumb-operated gear-change switch or a twist-grip gear-change switch. The advantage of the switching device lies in the considerable simplification of the design and in the production of the components in plastic material.

A rotary handle gearshift actuator for operating bicycle gears. The gearshift actuator includes a rotatable housing and a stationary housing. The rotatable housing has a planar surface and including an outer cylinder extending outwardly from the planar surface, the outer cylinder having an inside wall and a recess defined axially in the inside wall. The stationary housing has a planar surface and an inner cylinder extending outwardly from the planar surface of the stationary housing. The inner cylinder has a distal end and a bayonet hook extending radially outwardly from the distal end, the bayonet hook being configured for sliding engagement with the recess of the outer cylinder of the rotatable housing. The inner cylinder of the stationary housing is dimensioned to dispose concentrically within the outer cylinder of the rotatable housing so as to form a bearing point and so that the bayonet hook extends axially beyond the planar surface of the rotatable housing thereby permitting the recess of the rotatable housing to be rotated away from the bayonet of the stationary housing and thereby preventing the inner and outer cylinders from separating axially. The gearshift actuator further includes a latching mechanism for rotatively latching the rotatable housing to the stationary housing.

A twist-grip shifter for bicycles having a twist grip or grip part which is actuated by the rider's hand to change the gears of the bicycle, and a cable winding mechanism or coil wind-up mechanism. The twist grip and the cable winding mechanism of the twist-grip shifter can be connected to one another by providing claws or projections on a tubular extension of the cable winding mechanism, and by providing corresponding recesses inside the twist grip, in which recesses the claws can be engaged. One of the claws and one of the recesses can be configured differently from the other claws and recesses, in order to simplify the assembly of the two parts with respect to one another.

A twist-grip shifter for bicycles having a twist grip or grip part which is actuated by the rider's hand to change the gears of the bicycle, and a cable winding mechanism or coil wind-up mechanism. The twist grip and the cable winding mechanism of the twist-grip shifter are connected to one another, and debris and other contaminants can be prevented from entering the interior of the twist-grip shifter near this connection by providing a contactless seal or a friction seal. The contactless seal includes a projecting collar on the cable winding mechanism which extends into a groove formed in the twist grip. The collar of the cable winding mechanism essentially does not contact the groove of the twist grip. The friction seal includes a lip or flange formed from the rubber material of the twist grip, which lip then contacts a portion of the collar of the cable winding mechanism.

This invention relates to a latching shifter for bicycle transmissions, such as hub transmissions or derailleurs, with a housing, a latch element with notches, a latching spring with a latching lug and two projections, as well as a slide with different bias stages which interact with the projections of the latching spring. By changing the position of the slide, the projections of the latching spring are brought together with different bias stages of the slide, whereupon the latching spring is pressed with varying degrees of pressure by means of its latching lug into the notches of the latching element. The advantage of the externally adjustable bias is that the shifter can be individually adjusted in terms of the retention force which prevents unintentional shifting when the bicycle is in motion.

This invention relates to a shifter for the actuation of derailleurs on bicycles with an integrated transition distance for shifting the chain from a smaller sprocket to the next larger sprocket by means of a detent element. The detent element interacts with a detent spring which detent spring is permanently fastened to the housing. The return of the shifting system into the correct position of the derailleur over the desired larger sprocket is no longer left exclusively to the return spring of the derailleur by means of a Bowden cable, but is assisted by a transition spring which is coupled to the detent spring in the shifter.
