An assembly is provided that may be supported on or above a variety of work surfaces and that is adapted to support a workpiece or a tool in a wide range of orientations. The assembly comprises a vise apparatus including (i) a first clamping component, (ii) a second clamping component, and (iii) a slide bar possessing a polygonal-shaped outer surface, the slide bar being at least partially interposed between the first clamping component and the second clamping component. The assembly further includes a first mounting apparatus including (i) a first clamping device configured to engage the polygonal-shaped outer surface of the slide bar so as to releasably hold the slide bar in fixed relation to the first clamping device, and (ii) a first attachment mechanism configured to removably secure the first mounting apparatus to a first support, the first attachment mechanism possessing a first configuration. Moreover, the assembly includes a second mounting apparatus including (i) a second clamping device configured to engage the polygonal-shaped outer surface of the slide bar so as to releasably hold the slide bar in fixed relation to the second clamping device, and (ii) a second attachment mechanism configured to removably secure the second mounting apparatus to a second support, the second attachment mechanism possessing a second configuration which is different from the first configuration.

Vise assembly

A control mechanism for a rotary hand tool of the type having a generally cylindrical housing in which a drive motor is located, the housing having a nose portion from which a motor output shaft extends and a grip portion, the mechanism including an electrical control circuit that controls the application of power to and the operation of the motor, and a light touch switch having at least a first position or state and a second position or state coupled to the electrical control circuit for selectively enabling or disabling the control circuit to turn the motor on and off. The switch is disposed on the nose portion of the rotary hand tool such that an operator can actuate the switch substantially without altering the operator's grip on the tool.

Nose tip control for cordless high speed rotary tool

A rotary tool accessory includes a body defining an axis of rotation and having a work piece contacting surface and a drive portion. The body has defined therein a body opening including a first opening portion and a second opening portion. The rotary tool accessory further includes an insert located within at least the second body opening. The first opening portion is contained within a space during rotation of the body about the axis. Both the drive portion and the second opening portion are advanced through a path during rotation of the body about the axis, the path being located outside of the space.

Accessory for a rotary tool

A mandrel and accessory and related combination for use with a rotary tool are disclosed. For instance, the mandrel and accessory combination includes a mandrel assembly and an accessory. The mandrel assembly includes (i) a shaft component defining an axis and having a first portion configured to be received in a chuck of a power tool, and a second portion having a first shaft tooth and a second shaft tooth each extending in a perpendicular manner with respect to the axis, and (ii) a collar component defining a passage through which the shaft component extends, the collar component having a first collar tooth and a second collar tooth. The accessory includes an outer wall structure defining a circular outer periphery; and an inner wall structure defining a coupling opening. The accessory is configured to be releasably coupled to the mandrel assembly.

Mandrel and accessory and related combination for use with a rotary tool

A light attachment that can be readily mounted on a variety of tools and tool support fixtures and other support structures includes a light portion supported on a mounting portion by a flexible gooseneck cable. The mounting portion includes a housing that defines a male-female attachment element configured to slidingly mate with a complementary attachment element formed on the body of the power tool. In a preferred embodiment, the attachment element has a dovetail shape for sliding engagement within a complementary shaped notch in the body of the tool. The housing contains a power source for the light portion. The light portion incorporates an on-off switch that is actuated by rotating a component that is threadedly engaged within the housing. The housing supports a printed circuit board to which the power supply wires are attached. The circuit board also carries a spring contact switch element that completes an electrical circuit to energize the light portion when the spring contact is pressed against the circuit board. Power is supplied through the circuit board and switch to an LED light element. The LED is disposed within the housing so that the rotatable component can push the base of the LED into the spring switch to close the electrical circuit.

Light assembly

A jig assembly for use with work piece and a hand-held power tool having a cutting bit includes a first member and at least one insert. The first member has a first opening and is configured to be positioned adjacent a first side of the work piece. The at least one insert is configured to fit within the first opening in the first member and includes a second opening. At least one of the first opening and second opening is configured to allow a portion of the hand-held power tool to pass therethrough to contact the work piece and to act as a guide for the hand-held power tool as it removes material from the work piece.
