A fiber-web machine dryer section has a drying group with single-wire draw so the drying wire (F) presses the web (W) against heated cylinder surfaces with the web (W) at the side of the outside curve of reversing cylinders () situated between drying cylinders (). A pocket space (T) is formed between two adjacent drying cylinders () and a reversing cylinder () situated between them, and the drying wire (F). A negative pressure component () placed in the pocket space (T) creates a pressure difference over the drying wire (F) and the web (W) for attaching the web (W) to the drying wire (F) so the cross-direction shrinkage of the web (W) is controllable. The wire tension (F) is maintained at a level help control cross-direction shrinkage of the web. The pocket space (T) is sealed by sealing members () to maintain negative pressure in the pocket space.

Method and device in a dryer section of a fibre-web machine, such as a paper or board machine

In a paper or board machine drying line after the wire section, during dewatering a web's (W) width is affected in a direction crosswise to the web's traveling direction. Starting from an edge, at least one device (A,B) brings about a force effect of a desired magnitude which is directed all the way to a desired arbitrary crosswise web position in order to modify web characteristics. A device in a paper or board machine line after the wire section has means for processing the web and for dewatering. The paper or board machine line after the wire section further has at least one device (A;B) for directing a force effect at a desired partial area (WS) of the web (W) in the cross machine direction in order to modify the web's characteristics profile in the cross machine direction.

Method and device in a paper or board machine line for straining paper

An arrangement and method for improving runnability, and dryer section length, by using a vertical impingement dryer before a first dryer cylinder of a group of dryer cylinders. After a pressing section, the web is dried with a pre-impingement dryer, closely followed by a vertical impingement dryer, which is closely following by the first dryer cylinder. The pre-impingement dryer and vertical impingement dryer of the first dryer cylinder to have a drying temperature of approximately 80&#xb0; C. with no undesirable sticking to the dryer cylinder. The pre-impingement dryer can be arranged to dry a first side of the web, and a vertical impingement dryer after the first dryer cylinder is arranged to dry a second side of the web. The impingement drying takes place directly against the web without an intervening fabric.

Arrangement in a paper machine

The invention relates to an arrangement for feeding a treatment substance to an application device used to treat a moving paper or board web, which arrangement includes at least one application chamber ( ) extending over the width of the web, to which the treatment substance can be fed. The treatment substance feed devices include at least one elongated feed chamber ( ) extending over the width of the application device, to which treatment substance can be fed from the inlet side ( ) of the chamber ( ), and at least one connection ( ) for leading the treatment substance from the feed chamber to the application chamber ( ). For feeding the treatment substance between the feed chambers, there is at least one flow route to connect the end ( ) of the feed chamber ( ) opposite the inlet side ( ) and the end of the application device on the side of the inlet side of the first feed chamber ( ), through the flow route.

Apparatus for feeding a treatment substance to an application device
