A method transfers image information from a camera module () to an electronic device, such as a mobile station (). In the camera module (), an image is formed by an image sensor () having pixels, where the light to which the pixel (P-Pm,n) is exposed is converted into an analog signal which is converted into digital image information. The image information is transferred in serial form, and the transfer of the image information is controlled by the electronic device ().

Method and apparatus for transferring image data from an internal camera module

An electronic device () comprises preferably at least a keyboard (), which comprises at least one key () for controlling the functions of an electronic device (). This keyboard () is arranged as a keyboard plate (). Said keyboard () is implemented so that it also comprises a touch sensitive element (), over which said keyboard plate () is arranged so that the depression of a key is arranged to be transmitted to a touch sensitive element () essentially at the point of a key (). Electronic device and a method in an electronic device

In TDMA systems it is possible to transmit data on more than one consecutive slot per frame. This introduces increased workloads on the power amplifier of the transmitter of the mobile station. To prevent the power amplifier from overheating, temperature sensing means are incorporated into the mobile station which output to a control system comprising a comparator and feedback means which together regulate the operation of the transmitter if the power amplifier approaches or exceeds it upper rated operating value. Thereby preventing the power amplifier from damage.

Data transmission in a TDMA system

A method for refreshing memory cells in a dynamic memory includes dividing the information stored therein at a given time into information to be maintained and information not requiring maintenance, wherein at least some of such memory cells containing information not requiring maintenance are left unrefreshed. In the method application programs are executed. The memory cells of the dynamic memory are divided into two or more blocks which can be refreshed irrespective of each other. Information on the location of each application program to be executed is stored, as well as on the quantity of memory allocated by each application program to be executed. In the method it is further determined on the basis of said stored information which of said memory blocks contains information requiring maintenance, wherein other memory blocks remains unrefreshed. The invention also relates to an electronic device.

Method for refreshing a dynamic memory

A method and apparatus for updating transmission power class information of a Mobile Station (MS) in a General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) network. The invention updates transmission power class information of the MS in the GPRS network by initiating a Routing Area Update (RAU) procedure in the MS. The RAU procedure includes sending from the MS to a Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) of the GPRS network a RAU request message including a MS Radio Access Capability (RAC) Information Element (IE) which includes an IE indicating a new transmission power class of the MS, accepting in the SGSN the IE indicating a new transmission power class of the MS included in the MS RAC of the RAU request message, and delivering to a Base Station (BSS) the IE indicating a new transmission power class of the MS, thereby updating the transmission power class information of the MS at the BSS.

A device (MS) having an electrical display (DSPL) is equipped with a transparent electrostatic diaphragm (ACT) vibrateably attached in front of the display. The display has been made electrically conductive and used as a stator of thus formed electrostatic speaker (TD ). A fluctuating DC-voltage is conducted to the diaphragm and display in order to resonate the diaphragm and produce sound respective to the fluctuation. The transparency of the diaphragm allows a user to see the display through the diaphragm. Alternatively, the similar arrangement can be used to implement a transparent electrostatic microphone on the display.

Method for installing two or more operating systems/user interfaces into an electronic device and an electronic device

A mobile station (MS) that includes an interface card slot (SLOT) to which it is possible to connect either an MMC-card or a small SIM-card. To connect the small interface card a separate adapter the size of an MMC-card is used, or, in addition to the first contact pins for use of an MMC-card, second contact pins for use of a SIM-card are arranged to the interface card slot. The operating voltage of the interface card is selected to fit the currently used interface card. In some embodiments of the present invention at least partially shared contact pins, which have been multiplexed, are being used to connect MMC- and SIM-cards.

A system for providing an IR-link between a mobile phone and its accessories to transmit audio, control, and data signals between them in an apparent full-duplex real time mode using a conventional half-duplex IR-transceiver with suitable FIFO registers and control means. The 'direction' of the half-duplex channel is 'switched' by the system which may be embodied in an IR-link module, having transmission channels for digital full-duplex audio signals, slow data messages and fast data messages, and for some control data. The module is connected to the baseband of a phone through a baseband interface (BBIF) and communicates through a media interface (MIF) and an infrared interface (IRIF) with free air space or a lightguide. A link-specific low-level protocol is used for audio and slow data message transmission but the link hardware of the module may also support other protocol implementations. The system may be implemented in hardware and/or software.
