Device power saving during exercise

Bluetooth beacon transmission

A data transfer component receives cardiac data from a heart sensor while the data transfer component is electromechanically coupled with the heart sensor sensitive to heart activity. A standard electromechanical interface of the data transfer component and a counterpart of the heart sensor are repeatedly connectable and disconnectable. The received data is stored in the data transfer component. The stored data is transferred from the data transfer component to an external device while the data transfer component is electromechanically coupled with the external device by using a coupling between the standard electromechanical interface of the data transfer component and a counterpart of the external device which are repeatedly connectable and disconnectable.

Data transfer

Interaction between a portable apparatus and a personal exercise area is disclosed. A method comprises: transferring wirelessly information between a personal exercise area and a portable apparatus; detecting proximity of the portable apparatus to the personal exercise area by utilizing the transferred information; and configuring the portable apparatus in relation to an exercise performed within the personal exercise area by a user of the portable apparatus.

Portable apparatus

A data transmission method for use in the transmission of a performance transmitter of a portable user-specific performance monitor by using wireless data transmission that is based on radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation, and the method comprises measuring with the performance monitor the movement and/or organ system state of a user. In the solution, the availability of wireless data transmission in the performance transmitter is determined. If wireless data transmission is not available, measuring data is stored into a memory of the performance transmitter, otherwise the measuring data is transmitted using wireless data transmission.

Performance monitor, transmission method and computer program product

The invention relates to a method of performing operating settings in a heart rate measurement arrangement, and a heart rate measurement arrangement. Audio frequency information is transmitted to the heart rate measurement arrangement by wireless transmission. The audio frequency information contains setting value information intended to be used in the operation of the heart rate measurement arrangement. In the heart rate measurement arrangement, decoding is performed to decode the received audio frequency information so that the setting value information can be used to control the operation thereof.
