An apparatus comprising: a deformable antenna configured to operate in a first physical configuration and configured to operate in a second physical configuration that is deformed relative to the first physical configuration; and magnetic material located in close proximity to the deformable antenna and configured to have a first physical configuration when the deformable antenna is in its first physical configuration and configured to have a second physical configuration that is deformed relative to the first physical configuration when the deformable antenna is in its second physical configuration, wherein the magnetic material when in its first physical configuration has a first magnetic permeability and when in its second physical configuration has a second magnetic permeability.

A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided for making network optimization decisions based on observed network node performance information. Network nodes may continuously report performance measurement information to network servers. Observers may request registration with the servers and access to the mode measurement information. The observer may specify a measurement threshold that, when met, causes the server to report node measurement data to the observer. The node measurement data enables the observer to make network optimization and control decisions. An optimal radio frequency might be selected; a node might switch between different gateways or cause a handoff from one gateway to another for efficient traffic routing. A user could observe measurement data for friends and receive notice when friends are in close proximity or engaged in like activity such that a social contextual community might be formed.

Decision making based on remote observation of node capabilities

A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for providing mobile services outside of cellular coverage. In the context of a method, an indication is received, at an intermediate device, of data for transmission to a target device for which cellular network communication between an originating device and the target device is not currently available. The method also includes receiving data corresponding to the indication from a memory buffer associated with a short range communication link. The method further includes causing communication of the data via a long range communication link to enable communication of the data to the target device.

Method and apparatus for providing mobile services outside of cellular coverage

A sender and a receiver includes first and second arrays of coupled oscillators, respectively, that are substantially identically constructed so as to exhibit substantially the same dynamical response to excitation. A chaotic waveform generated at the sender is transmitted to the receiver, which generates a second chaotic waveform, and compares the received waveform with the generated second waveform. If the first and second waveforms match the sender is an authorized sender. An integrated circuit includes an array of coupled oscillators that in combination generate a waveform in response to at least one excitation signal. The array of coupled oscillators represents, in response to application of the excitation signals, a multi-dimensional security key that is shared between the sender of the waveform and the receiver of the waveform.

The invention relates to an apparatus comprising a differential driver module configured to generate at least one differential signal having steep rise and fall times for at least partially reducing common-mode noise. The invention also relates to a method for causing the differential driver to generate the signal and a system comprising the differential driver and a conductor module for transmission of the generated differential signal. The application provides a method, apparatus and computer program product to enable the provision of mobile services outside the typical coverage area of a cell. Moreover, some embodiments of the application may enable the provision of burst radio link communications over long distances between transmission and reception devices (e.g., access points) having devices within their respective coverage areas in order to enable the devices to provide data or content from one device to another. Apparatus and method for introducing a controllable delay to an input signal

In one or more embodiments described herein, there is provided an apparatus comprising a substrate, and a plurality of carbon nanotubes (semiconducting nano-elements) disposed and fixed with said substrate. The nanotubes are disposed and fixed on said substrate such that they define a carbon nanotube network substantially at the percolation threshold of the network. As the network is at the percolation threshold, this provides for one or more signal paths extending from an input region to an output region.
