The present invention extends to a carabiner intended for use as an adjustable anchor or a belay device. In general, implementations include a carabiner that includes a frame defining a hole and a gate. More specifically, implementations include a carabiner having a spine with an elongated slot portion having a first slot wall and a second slot wall that define a hole through the spine of the frame. Additionally, some implementations include a carabiner kit with a first carabiner having an elongated slot portion on the spine, a second carabiner, a pinching mechanism formed by linking the first and second carabiners together, and a rope that goes through the elongated slot portion, around the second carabiner, and back out the elongated slot portion of the first carabiner to enable the pinching mechanism to selectively pinch the rope for use as an adjustable anchor or a belay device.

Multifunction carabiner

An insert storage device for storing items inside a generally cylindrical passage such as a handlebar or pole. The device has a first end, a second end, and an elongate portion joining the first and second ends. The elongate portion has a storage compartment configured to store a removable pipe. The first end creates an interference fit between the insert storage device and the generally cylindrical passage, and the second end has a separate storage compartment with a movable cap that provides access.

Carabiner

The present invention extends to a carabiner intended for use as an adjustable anchor. In general, embodiments of the invention include a carabiner that includes a pinching mechanism. More specifically, some embodiments of the invention include a carabiner having a pinching mechanism that includes one of a slidable pin, a rotatable cam, or a pivotable block. Additionally, some embodiments of the invention include a rope, whereas other embodiments can be used with a rope supplied by a climber.

A self-locking clip includes a clip body and a rotating cam gripper, the rotating cam gripper pivotally mounted on the clip body. The self-locking clip further includes a spring arm, the spring arm integrated into the clip body, the spring arm configured to provide tension to the rotating cam gripper such that the rotating cam gripper is held against a first gripping surface on the clip body.

A belay device for climbing with at least one rope is provided. The belay device comprises a first plate having a first lobe with the rope wrapping at least partially about the first lobe and a second plate having a second lobe. A connection mechanism connects the first plate to the second plate through a rotation point with the rotation point positioned inside the second lobe. A first channel is defined by the first plate and the first lobe and the second plate and the second lobe with the rope moveable through the first channel wherein tension on the rope rotates the first plate and the second plate relative to each other thereby narrowing the first channel and impeding movement of the rope through the first channel.
