An airway pressure support system () includes a housing () having an air inlet opening (), and a filter assembly () coupled to a plurality of receiving portions of the housing. The filter assembly is in fluid communication with the air inlet opening. The filter assembly includes a housing portion (), a first filter media portion () attached to the housing portion, and first and second spring members () attached to the housing portion, wherein the first and second spring members each have a floating portion and engage the plurality of receiving portions and cause a sealing force to be exerted against the filter assembly.

An apparatus includes a housing having a gas flow generator for generating a flow of breathing gas and a humidifier disposed therein having a chamber for housing a volume of water. The chamber has a top opening for providing the volume of water therein. The apparatus further includes a lid coupled to the housing that is movable between a first position wherein the lid covers the top opening and a second position wherein the lid does not cover the top opening. The apparatus also includes a passage which extends from a first end positioned and structured to receive the flow of breathing gas from the gas flow generator to an opposite second end positioned on the lid and structured to expel the flow of breathing gas into the chamber. An outlet for conveying the flow of breathing gas from the chamber out of the housing is positioned on the housing.

The system includes a decoupler configured to decouple a humidification chamber in a humidifier from a pressure generator of the pressure support therapy device in response to a cover of the humidifier being opened. This eliminates and/or reduces the possibility of liquid in an overfilled humidification chamber unintentionally and/or otherwise entering the pressure generator and damaging sensitive mechanical and/or electrical components. In some embodiments, the system includes one or more of a pressure generator, a humidifier, a subject interface, a sensor, the decoupler, a processor, electronic storage, a user interface, and/or other components.

A connection assembly for rotateably and electrically coupling an accessory to a main device includes a housing portion, a rotatable port assembly, and a wire assembly. An end of the port assembly is coupled to the accessory. The port assembly includes an electrical connector member having a first connector end electrically coupled to the accessory. The wire assembly has an electrical wire member having a first end electrically coupled to a second connector end of the electrical connector member and a second end electrically coupled to a power supply. The wire member is spooled around the port assembly and encased in a chamber defined between the housing portion and the port assembly. Rotation of the port assembly in opposite directions causes the electrical wire member to spool more and less tightly around the port assembly without causing pinching or tangling of wires.

A pressure support system that comprises a patient circuit, a docking assembly, and a tank. The patient circuit delivers a pressurized flow of breathable gas to a patient. The docking assembly has an inlet and an outlet that is adapted to receive the pressurized flow of breathable gas, and is also adapted to be connected with the patient circuit. The tank is constructed and arranged to be removably connected with the docking assembly, and enables the pressurized flow of breathable gas to pass therethrough. The tank is also adapted to contain a liquid such that a humidity level of the pressurized flow of breathable gas is elevated as the pressurized flow of breathable gas passes therethrough.

A pressure support device includes a humidification system () to control the humidity of a pressurized flow of breathable gas generated by the pressure support device. The humidification system includes a liquid storage chamber () and a humidification chamber (). When in an operational orientation, liquid travels from the liquid storage chamber to the humidification chamber through a serpentine feed path () due to gravity. The serpentine shape of feed path halts the flow of liquid responsive to the device being tilted out of an operational orientation.

A pressure support system configured to provide pressure support therapy includes a humidifier that holds an enhanced amount of liquid while enhancing the power consumption of the pressure support system and enabling relatively rapid adjustments to humidity level. The humidifier includes a humidification chamber and a holding chamber, and a partition that divides the holding chamber from the humidification chamber such that liquid from the holding chamber replenishes liquid held in the humidification chamber. The partition, however, also provides a level of thermal isolation for the humidification chamber from the holding chamber.
