A foot sleeve for the enclosure of a patient's foot by a single pressurized chamber, which chamber is folded so as to have any sealed margins at the side or tow portions of a patient's foot. By having the sealed edges at the side portions of the sleeve or boot, the top portion of the sleeve is able to receive a full compression chamber completely thereacross.

Compressible boot

A sequential compression device for delivering pressurized air to a multi compartment inflatable sleeve on a patient's limb. The device includes a pump, a plurality of cam actuated valves and a plurality of conduits in communication with said valves, all disposed within an accumulator, which comprises the housing for the device as well.

Portable sequential compression device

A method of compressing a multi-chambered sleeve which is normally wrapped about a patient's arm, comprising pressurizing an accumulator from within the accumulator, opening a manifold arrangement in said accumulator in a timed manner to direct pressurized air to proper chambers in a multi-chamber sleeve.

Method of producing pressure for a multi-chambered sleeve

A temperature, pulse and respiration probe having a mouthpiece which fits over the patient's teeth and carries a thermistor for sensing the patient's temperature and a reflective photodetector for sensing both the patient's pulse and the patient's respiration. The reflective photodetector is mounted adjacent to a part of the interior surface of the patient's mouth which relatively rapidly, periodically changes its reflectivity due to the patient's pulse and which also relatively slowly, periodically changes its reflectivity due to the patient's respiration. The photodetector produces a single signal representative of both the relatively rapid and the relatively slower changes in the reflectivity corresponding to the patient's pulse and respiration rate, respectively. In one embodiment, all of these sensors are mounted to a portion of the mouthpiece adjacent the patient's inner gum. In another embodiment the sensors are mounted to a portion of the mouthpiece which underlies the patient's tongue. The patient's frenulum linguae is received within a notch in the underlying portion and the thermistor and photodetector are mounted at opposite sides of the notch.

Temperature, pulse and respiration mouthpiece probe

A sterile cover for an instrument comprising, a tray having an upright post, with the post having an upper end and a lower end. The cover has a sleeve of flexible material having an open end and a closed end. The sleeve is placed on the post with the closed end being located adjacent the upper end of the post, with the sleeve extending over the post from the upper end toward the lower end of the post, and with the open end of the sleeve being accessible to a user to remove the sleeve from the post.

Sterile cover for instrument

A therapeutic device comprising, a sleeve for covering a portion of a patient's body and having flexible walls defining an inner space to receive liquid, a conduit system connected to the space, and a device for circulating a liquid through the conduit system and the sleeve space. The therapeutic device has a device for changing the temperature of the circulating liquid in the conduit system, and a device for pressurizing the liquid in the sleeve space.

Therapeutic device with temperature and pressure control

A folded drape comprising, a sheet of flexible material including a first surface for contacting the body of a patient after placement of the drape, and an opposed second surface. The sheet has first and second spaced lateral fold lines defining a central panel having a fenestration located adjacent a lateral central portion thereof, and a third lateral fold line located intermediate the central panel and one end edge of the sheet, with the third fold line defining an end panel intermediate the one end edge and the third fold line, and with the first fold line being located intermediate the second and third fold lines. The sheet has a connecting panel intermediate the first and third fold lines, with the connecting panel being folded into a configuration overlying the first surface and a first end portion of the central panel, with the third fold line being spaced from the second fold line and the first surface of a second end portion of the central panel being exposed intermediate the second and third fold lines, and with the fenestration being located in the second end portion and the first surface of the end panel being exposed in the folded configuration. The drape has a pair of first adhesive zones located on opposed sides of and adjacent the fenestration in the second end portion, with the first adhesive zones facing outwardly from the first surface. The drape has a pair of second adhesive zones on the end panel adjacent opposed side edges of the sheet, with the second adhesive zones facing outwardly from the first surface. The drape also has pairs of first and second release sheets respectively covering and releasably attached to the first and second adhesive zones.
