A pressurization system for a vehicle includes an inlet for receiving a medium and a cabin air compressing device arranged in fluid communication with the inlet. The cabin air compressing device includes a shaft, a compressor connected to the shaft, a motor operably connected to the shaft and configured to drive the compressor, and a turbine connected to the shaft and also configured to drive the compressor upon receipt of the medium. A heat exchanger has a first inlet fluidly connected to the compressor outlet and a second inlet fluidly connected to the turbine outlet. The compressor inlet and the turbine inlet are fluidly connected to and are arranged in parallel relative to the inlet.

A conditioning system for recirculation air of an aircraft cabin includes an air cycle system in fluid communication with the aircraft cabin and configured to receive a recirculation airflow from the aircraft cabin and a mixing chamber disposed in fluid communication between the air cycle system and the aircraft cabin. The mixing chamber is configured to mix the recirculation airflow received from the air cycle system with a conditioned airflow received from an environmental control system pack of the aircraft.

A system includes a venturi duct, a first delta P sensor, a second delta P sensor, and an ECS controller. The venturi duct is configured to receive a first bleed air flow or a second bleed air flow. The first and second delta P sensors are configured to sense a first and second pressure difference between a first point and a second point of the venturi duct. The first and second delta P sensors are configured to sense pressure difference over different pressure ranges. The ECS controller is configured determine a flow rate of an ECS air flow based upon the first pressure and/or second sensed pressure differences.
