Embodiments of a process for improving a re-refined lube oil stream are provided. The process comprises the steps of introducing a gas stream comprising hydrogen (H) and the re-refined lube oil stream comprising hydroprocessed used lube oil to a hydrogenation reactor that contain Group VIII catalyst. A gas to oil feed ratio rate of from about 30 to about 100 NmH/mis used to introduce the streams to the reactor. The hydroprocessed used lube oil is hydrogenated with the Hin the reactor such that an effluent is formed containing hydrogenated re-refined lube oil having about 2 wt. % or less of aromatics and about 55 wt. % or less of naphthenes. The reactor is operating at a temperature of from about 250 to about 300&#xb0; C.

Process for improving a re-refined lube oil stream

Disclosed is an apparatus and process for recovering heat from multiple hot process streams without multiplying instrumentation. Each hot process stream is indirectly heat exchanged with a water circuit which leaves and feeds a steam drum. Heat is added to the steam drum through the addition of water heated outside of the steam drum. The heated liquid and vapor water is heated in heat exchangers decoupled from the steam drum. The water circuits are arranged in parallel with each other and feed a single steam drum to provide a steam product of a desired pressure for which only one set of instrumentation is needed.

Process for steam heat recovery from multiple heat streams

A process for the production of low sulfur diesel and a residual hydro-carbon stream containing a reduced concentration of sulfur. A residual hydrocarbon stream is desulfurized and the resulting diesel boiling range hydrocarbons are desulfurized in a second desulfurization zone to produce low sulfur diesel. Hydrogen sulfide is removed from the process by the purification of the recycle gas.
