The invention relates to a method for operating a compressor unit, in particular for underwater operation. The aim of the invention is to minimize the risk of gas hydrate formation during the compression process. To reduce said risk, according to the method components of the compressor unit are supplied with anti-freeze and/or anti-freeze is injected into the flow path of the conveyed medium to be compressed. The invention also discloses a compressor unit, which operates according to said method.

Method for operation of a compressor unit, and associated compressor unit

A compressor unit including a compressor is provided. The compressor unit includes a suction line and a discharge line, a control unit which controls the compressor and/or adjacent modules. A method to operate a compressor unit is also provided. To avoid any damage caused by non-gaseous fluid amount at least one detection device is disposed in the suction line to identify non-gaseous fluid amounts in the fluid to be compressed before entering the compressor. The detection device is connected to the control unit in a signal transmitting manner.

An arrangement including an electric motor driving a pump is provided. The arrangement is delivering a process fluid along a flow path, which flow path extends along a gap between a stator and a motor rotor of the electric motor. To avoid rotor dynamic instability caused by hydrodynamics in the gap flow, guiding elements are provided in the flow path.
