A method, a device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in which an predictive discontinuous reception (DRX) bypass service is provided. The bypass service may provide flow control signaling that enables an uplink grant to be transmitted to an end device regardless of the DRX mode. The bypass service may provide for an immediate grant for uplink data and may improve latency. The bypass service may also provide flow control signaling for downlink data that may cause the end device to wake up from a DRX mode and receive downlink data. The bypass service also provides predictive scheduling that allows an external network, such as a multi-access edge computing network to establish a DRX-free downlink connection before completion of data processing. The flow control signaling may include a quality of service flow identifier value that correlates to the bypass service.

Method and system for predictive discontinuous reception bypass

A power and environmental orchestration (P&EO) system uses network utilization condition information to implement scenarios that partially or fully reduce power requirements for radio access network (RAN) elements. A network device obtains power orchestration scenarios for a RAN and evaluates utilization data of multiple components of the RAN against the power orchestration scenarios. The network device determines that the utilization data meets a threshold for one of the power orchestration scenarios and applies the one of the power orchestration scenarios to reconfigure the RAN for reduced power consumption.

A device may receive explicit congestion notification data associated with user devices connected to a network of network devices, and may receive network data identifying network metrics associated with the network devices. The device may generate an active queue management mapping table based on utilizing a model to process the explicit congestion notification data and the network data. The device may determine, based on the active queue management mapping table and the network data, a routing table that includes routing data identifying traffic paths with active queue management enabled network devices and without non-active queue management enabled network devices of the network devices. The device may provide the routing table to the network devices.

A network device may receive Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (NSSAI) and network information from network components and from a set of Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) nodes; generate descriptions of, or updates to the descriptions of, routing paths based on the NSSAI and the network information; and send the descriptions or the updates to the IAB nodes. The routing paths may include one or more backhaul links between the IAB nodes, and the descriptions and the updates associate each of the routing paths with one or more Single-NSSAIs (S-NSSAIs).

A controller determines a first path across a first segment routing (SR) domain and a second SR domain to a destination in the second SR domain, where the first SR domain uses a first SR protocol and the second SR domain uses a second SR protocol. The controller determines SR instructions that enable the interworking of the first SR domain and the second SR domain when data is routed across the first path to the destination. The controller sends, prior to the data being routed over the first path, the SR instructions to at least one of a first router in the first SR domain, a second router in the second SR domain, or a third router in the first SR domain to enable the interworking of the first and the second SR domains for segment routing the data across the first path.

A device may provide path data identifying a primary path and one or more alternate paths for segment routing traffic in the network, and may receive performance data indicating a performance degradation in the primary path. The device may determine that the performance data satisfies a first threshold, and may request, based on the performance data satisfying the first threshold, alternate path performance data. The device may receive the alternate path performance data based on the request, and may compare the alternate path performance data for the one or more alternate paths. The device may select a particular alternate path, of the one or more alternate paths, based on comparing the alternate path performance data for the one or more alternate paths, and may trigger, based on the performance data satisfying a second threshold, a failover of the traffic from the primary path and to the particular alternate path.

A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a network slice-to-transport domain service is provided. The service includes correlating a network slice identifier, an Internet Protocol subnet, and a virtual routing and forwarding instance pertaining to a network slice, and configuring network devices of the network slice with at least a portion of the correlated information. The service may obtain feedback information from the network devices, and evaluate performance metrics pertaining to the network slice based on the correlated information.

A controller determines a path from a first router in a first segment routing (SR) domain to a destination in a second SR domain, where the path includes a first sub-path in the first SR domain and a second sub-path in the second SR domain. The controller determines first SR instructions, that conform to a first SR protocol, for the first sub-path, and determines second SR instructions, that conform to a second SR protocol, for the second sub-path. The controller sends the first SR instructions to the first router in the first SR domain to enable segment routing of data towards the destination via the first sub-path, and sends the second SR instructions to a second router located at an end of the first sub-path or at a beginning of the second sub-path to enable segment routing of data towards the destination via the second sub-path.

A passive fiber optic switching ('PFOS') device may provide failover in a fiber optic network by switching a working path between different fibers of a redundant set of fibers. The PFOS device may operate passively (e.g., without an active, external, and/or continuous power supply) by harvesting the power that it needs from the light that passes over any one or more fibers that are connected to the PFOS device. The PFOS device may detect issues that disrupt signaling and/or light transmission on the working path based on quality (e.g., signaling and/or light properties) of the working path, and/or diagnostic messaging received from other devices on the working path. The PFOS device may include an optical switch, such as a Micro-Electro-Mechanical System ('MEMS') mirror switch, that can change the working path by switching light to any fiber of the redundant set of fibers.

In some implementations, a baseband unit determines a time when a plurality of remote radio heads, accessible to a user equipment, are scheduled to transmit a signal to the user equipment. The baseband unit transmits, via an Ethernet connection and in advance of the determined time, the signal and information about the determined time to each of the plurality of remote radio heads, to enable the plurality of remote radio heads to simultaneously transmit, at the determined time and via a radio connection, a Fourier transform of the signal to the user equipment.
