A method for enabling vehicle connected services for a hearing-impaired vehicle occupant includes receiving sensor data from a plurality of sensors of a vehicle. The sensor data includes scene data indicative of a scene inside the vehicle and outside the vehicle. The method further includes determining that the hearing-impaired vehicle occupant is articulating sign language using the sensor data. Also, the method includes determining a vehicle-occupant message corresponding to the sign language articulated by the hearing-impaired vehicle occupant to generate vehicle occupant-message data in response to determining that the hearing-impaired vehicle occupant is articulating sign language. The method further includes transmitting the vehicle occupant-message data and the scene data to a remote system in response to generating the vehicle occupant-message data. Further, the method includes receiving a vehicle connected service from the remote system.

Method and system for enabling vehicle connected services for hearing-impaired vehicle occupants

A multimedia system is provided for a scalable infotainment system of a motor vehicle. The scalable infotainment system includes a camera, which is releasably attached to the motor vehicle and supports camera software components for generating a media signal. The multimedia system includes a media player and a computer attached to the motor vehicle. The computer has a processor and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, which stores player software components including multiple streaming protocols used by the media player to play a media stream. The processor is programmed to transmit to the camera a player setup signal including data associated with the player software components. The processor is further programmed to receive from the camera a media signal associated with a media stream generated by the camera by using a common one of the streaming protocols supported by the camera and the media player.

A system for context-based adaptive virtual experience control in a vehicle is provided. The system includes an output device configured for providing a sensory output to a user of the vehicle and a computerized virtual experience control module configured for controlling the output device based upon a virtual experience mode. The system further includes a computerized context-based adaptive control module configured for monitoring contextual data related to one of the user of the vehicle or operation of the vehicle, monitoring feedback from the user related to one of favor or disfavor related to the virtual experience mode, and utilizing the contextual data and the feedback from the user to selectively, automatically command activation of the virtual experience mode.

System and method for virtual experience as a service with context-based adaptive control

Methods and systems are provided for assisting a user with parking a vehicle in a parking space. In various embodiments a method includes: receiving, by a processor, user input indicating a position of a virtual line displayed on a display screen of the vehicle, wherein the virtual line is adjustable by a user; storing, by the processor and in a datastore, the position of the virtual line and a vehicle position associated with a parking space; and selectively displaying, by the processor, an appearance of the virtual line on the display screen when the vehicle is within a range of the vehicle position to assist a user in parking the vehicle in the parking space, wherein the selectively displaying is based on a comparison of a boundary within a scene associated with the parking space and the virtual line.

A method involves obtaining sensor data for a detected object external to the vehicle from a sensor of a vehicle, obtaining location data associated with the detected object, obtaining a local classification model associated with an object type, assigning the object type to the detected object based on an output by the local classification model as a function of the sensor data and the location data using the local classification model, and initiating an action at the vehicle responsive to assigning the object type to the detected object.
