An accessory for oscillating power tools includes an attachment portion with a rear end couplable to an oscillating power tool and a working portion coupled to the attachment portion and extending along a tool axis. The working portion includes a cutting edge arranged asymmetrically relative to the tool axis with a leading tooth disposed at one end of the cutting edge at a first distance from the rear end, a trailing tooth disposed on an opposite end of the cutting edge at a second distance from the rear end that is less than the first distance, and a plurality of intermediate teeth between leading tooth and the trailing tooth, each disposed less than or equal to the first distance and greater than or equal to the second distance from the rear end, the cutting edge slanted at an acute angle to a line perpendicular to the tool axis.

Accessories for oscillating power tools

A bimetal band saw blade has a cutting edge with a plurality of cutting teeth defining repeating, variable pitch patterns and variable set patterns within pitch patterns. Each relatively heavy set tooth defines a first primary clearance angle, and each unset and relatively light set tooth defines a second primary clearance angle. Each first primary clearance angle is less than or equal to about 20&#xb0;, each second primary clearance angle is less than or equal to about 25&#xb0;, and each first primary clearance angle is within the range of about 4&#xb0; to about 6&#xb0; less than each second primary clearance angle. Each unset or light set tooth defines a greater gullet area than a respective heavy set tooth and/or a finer pitch than the respective heavy set tooth. Each tooth defines a positive rake angle within the range of about 3&#xb0; to about 10&#xb0;.

Band saw blade

A saw blade, such as a metal-cutting band saw blade, has a cutting edge including a plurality of teeth. A plurality of the teeth include a tip, a clearance surface located on one side of the tip, a rake face located on an opposite side of the tip relative to the clearance surface, a gullet, and a substantially flat, linear, or non-curvilinear projection formed between the rake face and the gullet and projecting outwardly relative to the rake face. The projection is inclined at an acute angle relative to a plane extending between the tips of consecutive unset teeth. The projection defines an inner end adjacent to the rake face and an outer end adjacent to the gullet. The inner end is located at a depth below the tip of at least about 25/1000 inch, and the distance between the inner end and the outer end of the projection in a direction substantially parallel to the plane extending between the tips of at least two teeth is less than about 65/1000 inch.

A band saw blade has a plurality of teeth defining a pitch pattern and first and second set patterns within each pitch pattern. The first set pattern includes a plurality of offset teeth that are each offset at approximately the same set magnitude as every other set tooth within the first set pattern. The second set pattern includes a plurality of first offset teeth that are each offset at approximately a first set magnitude, and a plurality of second set teeth that are each offset at approximately a second set magnitude that is greater than the first set magnitude.

A wood cutting band saw blade includes a cutting edge and a back edge, wherein the cutting edge is defined by a plurality of teeth spaced relative to each other. The plurality of teeth include a plurality of set teeth each having a tip, each defining a bend plane, and each including a shelf located at least partially between the tip and the bend plane for reducing saw dust passing to the kerf and accumulating on the band saw blade. Each of the set teeth may define a relief surface and a cutting surface where the relief surface extends from one side of the tip in a direction opposite that of the movement of the band saw blade and the cutting surface extends from another side of the tip. The shelf includes a shelf surface extending from the cutting surface and may terminate in a shelf tip.

Wood cutting band saw blade

A band saw blade comprising a plurality of teeth, wherein each tooth comprises a tip; a rake face formed on one side of the tip; a primary clearance surface formed on an opposite side of the tip relative to the rake face; a secondary clearance surface formed on an opposite side of the primary clearance surface relative to the tip; and a gullet located on an opposite side of the rake face relative to the tip and defining a depth (D) between a base surface of the gullet and the tip. Each tooth further defines a first gullet radius (R) located between the gullet and the secondary clearance surface; a second gullet radius (R) extending between a base surface of the gullet and the rake face; and a pitch (P) between the respective tooth and a preceding tooth. In each tooth, RD&#x3e;RQ, and D/P is between about 25% and 35%.

Saw blade having increased tooth stiffness and resistance to fatigue failure

A structural band saw blade is provided having a cutting edge defined by a plurality of teeth spaced relative to each other, and a back edge located on an opposite side of the blade relative to the cutting edge. Each tooth of the band saw blade defines a tip, a rake face formed on one side of the tip, a primary clearance surface formed on the opposite side of the tip relative to the rake face, a secondary clearance surface formed on the opposite side of the primary clearance surface relative to the tip, and a tertiary clearance surface formed on the opposite side of the secondary clearance surface relative to the first clearance surface. The primary clearance surface defines a first acute relief angle, the secondary clearance surface defines a second acute relief angle less than the first acute relief angle, and the tertiary clearance surface defines a tertiary acute relief angle greater than the first and second relief angles. A rake face protrusion is formed on the opposite side of the rake face relative to the tip, and extends over one end of a weld zone. The rake face protrusion projects outwardly relative to a plane defined by the rake face, and the secondary and tertiary clearance surfaces project outwardly on the opposite side of the tooth relative to the rake face protrusion. One or both of the secondary and tertiary clearance surfaces extends over the weld zone on the opposite side of the tooth relative to the rake face protrusion to thereby form an increased tooth thickness at the weld zone and prevent tooth strippage. The teeth of the saw blade define a variable level height and set.
