Embodiments include devices and methods for maintaining control of a robotic vehicle when control signals from a main controller are lost. A detector circuit may monitor signals from the main controller to an electronic speed controller (ESC) to detect a loss of valid control signals. The detector circuit may cause an auxiliary controller to begin issuing motor control signals to the ESC in response to detecting a loss of valid control signals. The auxiliary controller may be configured to issue motor control signals to the ESC according to a pre-loaded set of motor control instructions. The pre-loaded set of motor control instructions may be received from the main controller and/or may be configured to cause the auxiliary controller to issue motor control signals to the ESC that control motors in a manner that causes the robotic vehicle to enter a safe mode of operation or execute a particular maneuver.

A method for receiving a real-time video feed of a region of interest includes generating, at a processor of a first device, a request for a real-time video stream of the region of interest. The request indicates a location of the region of interest. The method also includes transmitting the request to one or more other devices via a network to query whether another device is situated to capture a portion of the region of interest. The method also includes receiving the real-time video stream of the region of interest from a second device of the one or more other devices. The second device includes a camera having a field of view that includes at least a portion of the region of interest.

Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for providing haptic feedback to assist in capturing images are presented. In some embodiments, a method for providing haptic feedback to assist in capturing images includes obtaining, via an image capture device, an ambient light measurement of an environment in which the image capture device is present. The method further includes detecting, via the image capture device, one or more objects within one or more image frames captured by the image capture device. The method also includes changing, via the image capture device, a manner in which haptic feedback is provided to a user of the image capture device, based at least in part on the obtained ambient light measurement and the detected one or more objects.

System and method for providing haptic feedback to assist in capturing images

Apparatuses, systems and methods for reducing power consumption during standby operation of a mobile device are disclosed. A page decoding algorithm can be stored in nonvolatile memory during standby. The page decoding algorithm can be executed from the nonvolatile memory, when the mobile device is awakened from a sleep state to determine if there is any activity such as an incoming call. No power is required for the nonvolatile memory to maintain storage of the algorithm so that the power requirement during standby of the mobile device is reduced.

A touch and hover-sensitive sensor system is provided. The system may include a planar light guide that has a plurality of light sources located along a first edge of the light guide and a plurality of light sensors located along a second edge of the light guide orthogonal to the first edge. The light guide may include light-turning arrangements that are configured to redirect light passing through a first side of the light guide from/along orthogonal directions within the light guide. A controller may illuminate proper subsets of the light sources; light that is emitted from the first side and that encounters an object, e.g., a fingertip, may be reflected back into the first side and then redirected to the light sensors. Depending on the light sensors that detect the highest redirected reflected light intensity and the active light sources, the controller may determine the XY/XYZ location of the object.

Apparatus and methods for an extensible robotic device with artificial intelligence and receptive to training controls. In one implementation, a modular robotic system that allows a user to fully select the architecture and capability set of their robotic device is disclosed. The user may add/remove modules as their respective functions are required/obviated. In addition, the artificial intelligence is based on a neuronal network (e.g., spiking neural network), and a behavioral control structure that allows a user to train a robotic device in manner conceptually similar to the mode in which one goes about training a domesticated animal such as a dog or cat (e.g., a positive/negative feedback training paradigm) is used. The trainable behavior control structure is based on the artificial neural network, which simulates the neural/synaptic activity of the brain of a living organism.

Intelligent modular robotic apparatus and methods

A multi-panel electronic device and method are disclosed. In a particular embodiment, a method includes receiving first acceleration data from a first sensor coupled to a first portion of an electronic device. The method further includes receiving second acceleration data from a second sensor coupled to a second portion of the electronic device, where a position of the first portion is movable with respect to a position of the second portion. The method further includes determining a configuration of the electronic device at least partially based on the first acceleration data and the second acceleration data.

Multi-panel electronic device

A method for synchronization of data over multiple panels is provided. A communications apparatus that synchronizes data across multiple displays is provided. A computer program product, comprising a computer-readable medium that synchronizes video data across multiple displays is provided. At least one processor configured to synchronize data across multiple panels is provided. The video data can be sent between the multiple panels or displays at different rates to facilitate synchronization of the data. Double buffering at each panel can allow data to be written to a first buffer and at substantially the same time data is extracted from a second buffer and written to a display.

Driving and synchronizing multiple display panels

Methods, systems, and devices are described for collecting physiological data using a configurable biopotential array. The array is embedded on a surface area of a handheld device. The array includes a number of electrode tiles. The electrodes include biosensors to collect the physiological data of a user. The electrodes are polled to detect contact with the user's skin. Electrodes in contact with the skin are electrically coupled to form an active electrode area. The coupled electrodes collect the physiological data relating to the user via the biosensors. The electrodes are decoupled after contact with the user's skin is terminated. The physiological data is analyzed and an emotional state or health state of the user is determined from the analyzed data.
