A system and method for initiating communications between a first wireless device and a second wireless device. The method includes the steps of detecting the status of the first wireless device, notifying the second wireless device via a scrolling ticker message based on the detecting step and establishing a communication session between the first and second wireless devices. The detecting step includes generating an alert based on a predefined event. The system for establishing a communication path between a first mobile device and a second mobile device includes an IMS core, a presence server communicatively coupled to the IMS core and in communication with the first mobile device, a scrolling ticker server in communication with the presence server and with the second mobile device, wherein the presence server communicates availability of the first mobile device and the scrolling ticker notifies the second mobile device of the availability of the first mobile device.

Dynamic scrolling-ticker for initiating telecommunications services

A computer-implemented method includes determining, based on first information received from a first mobile device within a vehicle, that the first mobile device is associated with a first person. The method includes determining first in-vehicle display preference information and a first vehicle occupant position of a plurality of vehicle occupant positions for the first person. The method also includes selecting, based on the first vehicle occupant position, a first projector of a plurality of projectors within the vehicle. The method further includes providing data representing display information to the first projector to enable the first projector to project the display information onto a display associated with a first window of the vehicle. The display information is determined based on the first in-vehicle display preference information for the first person.

Customized in-vehicle display information

Systems and methods are described herein for selectively displaying mobile caller identification (MCID) information for an incoming mobile telephone call on one or more display devices based on a location of the destination mobile device. A location of the destination mobile device can be compared to a display condition for one or more display devices. If the display condition is met for the given device, MCID information for the incoming call is provided to and displayed on the display device. The display condition can be based on the proximity of the mobile destination device and the display device.

Location based caller identification

Devices, systems, and methods are provided to send an alert to a called party communications device during a call setup phase and to present the alert to a called party during an alert portion of the call setup phase. Other devices, systems, and methods are provided that allow a calling party to remotely and securely access at least one host computer by sending a security phrase during a call setup phase and presenting the security phrase to the host computer to determine if by way of comparison to a voice print if the calling party is a valid user.

Enhanced message notification is provided by an enhanced notification function element and a subscriber preference profile database. The enhanced notification function element queries the subscriber preference profile database to obtain subscriber communication terminal capabilities information, which it uses to select a message notification technology. The enhanced notification function element may then format an enhanced notification that is delivered to a communication terminal through a delivery system architecture appropriate for the selected message notification technology. The enhanced notification may contain: a message type indicator; an identifier of the party leaving the message; a date and time that the message was deposited; multimedia objects; and other enhanced information. The enhanced notification function element may also query a terminal roaming status database in order to determine if the enhanced message should be sent when the terminal is roaming. The enhanced notification function element may also provide content adaptation for the enhanced notification.

A profiling engine is disclosed. The profiling engine collects information from a variety of sources in real time and stores the information in a profile. The profile may have a number of layers, each layer having a number of categories. The profile is made available for use by applications and services.

Multilayer correlation profiling engines

Devices and methods are disclosed which relate to managing multiple public user identifiers (PUIDs) in a database by setting customizable access rules and requiring authorization from applications for access. These PUIDs can be virtually any electronic identifier such as a telephone number, email address, FACEBOOK name, etc. The PUID database is on the memory of a mobile communication device. Applications on the mobile communication device or on the network request access to the PUID database. Access logic on the mobile communication device checks another database of PUID Access Policies and Preferences (PAPP) for authorization. The PAPP database may allow the application immediate access, deny access, or query the user for allowance. The PUID database and PAPP database are on a server on a network.

A method includes receiving a registration request including a first dictionary definition. The registration request is associated with user equipment. The method includes transmitting to the user equipment a response including a second dictionary definition. The method includes transmitting subsequent messages to the user equipment if the first and second dictionary definitions agree, the subsequent messages being compressed using the first static dictionary.

Optimizing static dictionary usage for signal compression and for hypertext transfer protocol compression in a wireless network

A home key of a mobile device is utilized to activate a map object displayed in a virtual template area of the mobile device. The virtual template area is available on a display of the mobile device. The home key is utilized to set the home key as an object home for a user-defined starting place on the map object. Upon the object home being activated, the object home returns to the user-defined starting place on the map object.

Availability of common features (e.g. device functions and/or subscription plan features) associated with two or more communication devices can be detected, and data indicative of commonly supported features can be provided to at least one of the two communication devices. A communications network administers intelligent roaming capabilities and features in a mobile station. The network includes a central database to store intelligent roaming information corresponding to respective service providers; and a service database to store and forward information corresponding to the intelligent roaming information to be programmed into the mobile station, which information is updated periodically by the central database. The mobile station is connected to a mobile coverage area based on the forwarded information.
