The disclosure concerns a test apparatus comprising a drum () configured such that ink drops () deposited on the surface of the drum form a printed marking () on the surface of the drum. The test apparatus further comprises an ink removal unit () configured to remove ink from the surface of the drum. The drum is at least partially transmissive of light and a light source () is disposed inside the drum to controllably illuminate the drum.

A device () for controlling user access to at least one container () for dispensing printing material housed by a printing apparatus (), the device () comprising an openable and closable barrier () corresponding to the container () and a lock for locking the barrier () in a closed position. The lock is overlapped by at least a portion of the barrier () both when the barrier () is in the closed position and when the barrier () is in an open position.
