A system including a current loop in serial connection with a field device is disclosed. The system includes a power management circuit connected in serial with the current loop and configured to cause a regulated voltage drop across the serial connection at an insertion voltage. The power management circuit is configured to output an electrical power derived from the insertion voltage. The power management circuit includes an energy pump, a control circuit, and a power consuming circuit. The energy pump is a voltage converter that receives a first voltage and converts the first voltage to a second voltage that is either higher or lower than the first voltage. The energy pump includes an input for receiving at least a portion of the insertion voltage and an feedback input for accepting a feedback sense.

Power management circuit for wireless communication device and process control system using same

A power management circuit comprises an energy pump, a control circuit and a power consuming circuit. The power management circuit is connected in serial with a current loop in a serial connection with a field device to cause a regulated voltage drop across the serial connection at an insertion voltage and to output an electrical power derived from the insertion voltage. The energy pump inputs at least a portion of the insertion voltage, and a feedback sense, and output a charging voltage based on the feedback sense. The charging voltage sources the electrical power output by the power management circuit. The control circuit regulates the insertion voltage by modulating the feedback sense to the energy pump, and modulates the feedback sense in response to an electrical change in the current loop. The power consuming circuit receives the electrical power from the power management circuit.

Systems and methods are provided to connect wireless adapters and field devices for process control systems, such systems and methods include a process control system having a field device, a wireless adapter, a first wire and a second wire. The field device includes a first terminal, a second terminal, a first conduit and a second conduit. The wireless adapter includes a first terminal, a second terminal, a first port and a second port. The first conduit of the field device couples to the second port of the wireless adapter. The first wire passes between the field device and the wireless adapter connecting the first terminal of the field device to the first terminal of the wireless adapter. The second wire passes between the field device and the wireless adapter connecting the second terminal of the field device to the second terminal of the wireless adapter. Other systems and methods are also provided.

Pass-through connection systems and methods for process control field devices

A method is provided for managing power for a wireless communication device. The method includes receiving a loop current at an insertion voltage at an initial input, the loop current being generated by a power supply. The method further includes comparing a reference voltage to the insertion voltage and generating a feedback signal based at least upon the comparison of the reference voltage to the insertion voltage. The method still further includes regulating the insertion voltage based at least upon the feedback signal, delivering charging power to an electrical storage element, wherein the charging power is a function of the insertion voltage and the loop current, and storing the charging power in the electrical storage element.

Regulating power for a wireless communication device

A power regulator includes an initial input, an output, a feedback input, and a comparison circuit. The initial input is configured to receive loop current at an insertion voltage. The output is configured to deliver charging power. The charging power changes at least partially in response to a change in the loop current. The comparison circuit is in electrical communication with the feedback input and is configured to regulate the insertion voltage. A wireless communication device is in electrical communication with the output of the power regulator and is configured to be powered by the charging power.

Power regulator for use with wireless communication device

A device for blending and dispensing liquid compositions includes an arrangement of components that provide an efficient dispenser for home and personal use. The device may include a plurality of cartridges and a plurality of pumps. Each of the cartridges contains a liquid additive and may be removably attached to the dispenser. Each of the pumps is connected to one of the cartridges and can be activated to draw a desired amount of liquid from that cartridge. The device may also include a spinning element for both mixing and dispensing the liquid composition. The liquids may flow out of the cartridges to one or more inlets near the surface of the spinning element and be mixed as they flow over the surface of the spinning element. The spinning element may also be selectively movable from a closed position sealing the dispensing outlet to an open position that provides a pathway for liquid to be dispensed from the device. In another embodiment, the device may include a compact housing for fitting into a small compartment, such as a purse.
