A soft close device for doors. A display case door includes a gasket and a compressible foam. The gasket has a peripheral body defining a cavity. The peripheral body includes a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion. The first portion is substantially flat and coupled to a surface of the display case door. The second portion is arranged on an opposite side of the cavity to the first portion. The second portion includes a magnet. The third portion is disposed between the first portion and the second portion. The third portion compresses when the door is closed against a cabinet frame. The compressible foam is positioned in and extends along a length of the cavity.

Soft close device for doors

A display case door that includes a frame around at least a portion of the display case door with an electrical connection installed within the frame. The electrical connector includes at least one opening defined within a surface of the electrical connector corresponding with at least one female electrical terminal. The electrical connector is mounted inside the door frame and the surface of the electrical connector is aligned with an opening in a sidewall of the door frame.

In one general aspect, the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in a display case door that includes an insulated panel assembly that is transparent to visible light. The door further includes a door frame extending about and secured to a peripheral edge of the insulated panel assembly, an electronic display overlaying the insulated panel assembly, and at least one lift-off hinge including a first hinge component attached to a longitudinal side of the door frame, and a second hinge component coupled to the electronic display.

The sealed glass unit assembly includes a sealed glass unit and a subframe extending about and coupled to the sealed glass unit. The electronic display is coupled to the door frame in front of the sealed glass unit. The door frame is configured to couple with a display case enclosure in an opening of the display case enclosure.

The door frame extends about and is coupled to the insulated panel assembly. The one or more mounting blocks are coupled to and extend inwardly from the door frame. The electronic display assembly includes an electronic display, and one or more side brackets coupled to the electronic display. At least one of the side brackets of the electronic display assembly is coupled to at least one of the one or more mounting blocks. The electronic display is at least partially supported on at least one of the one or more mounting blocks.

The insulated panel assembly has a door frame that extends about and is coupled to the insulated panel assembly. The support plate is coupled to a top rail of the door frame and has a least one pin. The electronic display assembly is coupled to the door frame. The hanger bracket is coupled to a top surface of the electronic display assembly and has a slot sized to accept the pin. The touch screen overlaps a first portion of the electronic display, and the display includes a second portion which is not overlapped by the touchscreen.

A display case door for a product storage device includes a transparent unit through which products within the product storage device are visible. The transparent unit includes a transparent LCD panel configured to present visual media content. The display case door further includes an electrical hinge pin rotatably coupling the display case door to the product storage device and one or more electrical conductors extending through the electrical hinge pin. The electrical conductors deliver the visual media content to the transparent LCD panel from a remote data source.

One aspect of the invention features a refrigerated display case door that includes a hinge rail, a panel assembly, and a handle. The hinge rail includes a channel portion and a hinge receiving portion. The panel assembly includes two panes of glass bounding a sealed space between the panes, and includes a first edge disposed within the channel portion of the hinge rail. The handle is secured to a surface of the panel assembly proximate a second edge of the panel assembly opposite the first edge. The sealed space is closed by a peripheral seal disposed between the panes along a periphery of the panes. The peripheral seal includes a first material extending along a first portion of the periphery and a second material extending along a second, different portion of the periphery, where the second material is more transparent to visible light than the first material.

A display case door assembly for a temperature-controlled storage device includes a vacuum panel, a hinge rail, and a lighting element. The vacuum panel includes a first vacuum pane, a second vacuum pane, and an evacuated gap between the first and second vacuum panes. The evacuated gap provides thermal insulation for the vacuum panel. The hinge rail is coupled to an edge of the vacuum panel and configured to rotate along with the vacuum panel between an open position and a closed position. The lighting element is coupled to at least one of the edge rail and the vacuum panel and configured to emit light toward an interior of the temperature-controlled storage device when the hinge rail and vacuum panel are in at least the closed position.

A display case door assembly for a temperature-controlled storage device includes an opening into the temperature-controlled storage device and a vacuum panel mounted within the opening. The vacuum panel includes a first vacuum pane of tempered glass, a second vacuum pane of tempered glass, and an evacuated gap between the first and second vacuum panes. The evacuated gap has a predetermined thickness within which a vacuum is drawn, thereby providing a thermal insulation effect for the vacuum panel. The vacuum panel further includes a plurality of spacers disposed within the evacuated gap and configured to maintain the predetermined thickness of the evacuated gap when the vacuum is drawn therein.

One aspect of the invention features a refrigerated display case door panel assembly. The panel assembly includes a vacuum-insulate glass (VIG) panel assembly, an additional pane of glass, and an electrically conductive coating disposed between the VIG panel assembly and the additional pane of glass. The VIG panel assembly includes two panes of glass bounding a sealed evacuated space between the panes. The additional pane of glass is laminated across one of the panes of glass of the VIG panel assembly to form a refrigerator side of the door. The electrically conductive coating extends across at least a majority of a viewing area of the door and is connected to an electrical conduit for electrically heating the coating to apply heat across the viewing area between the VIG panel assembly and the additional pane of glass.
