A lights and sounds mechanism for use in a toy is provided. The lights and sounds mechanism may be connected to a product test switch switch. One or more components of the toy may be disassembled for packaging. The disassembled components may include one or more lights or speakers. When the product test switch is triggered, the lights and/or speakers in the disassembled components may properly function.

Light and sound mechanisms for toys

An improved posable figure having extended life and resistance to failure, and being repeatedly posable in a realistic fashion. The posable figure has an inner skeleton including one or more primary members constructed of a bendable material such as metal wire, and an outer molded body covering constructed of a flexible substance such as an elastomer material. The inner skeleton also may include one or more secondary members molded over portions of the primary members, to limit flexion of the primary members and/or to connect the primary members to form an articulated structure.

Flexible dolls and posable action figures

Embodiments of toy dolls and doll stands are disclosed, in which a user input applied to the doll or stand may generate motion in the stand and/or doll to animate the doll and/or stand. In some embodiments, a users' input motion may be stored in a compression or expansion member, such as a spring, and gradually released to actuate motion of one or more parts of the stand and/or doll. In some embodiments, the dolls and stands can be separate or for use with each other, the same stand usable for multiple dolls. In some embodiments, the doll may be powered to move independent of the stand.

A toy figure resembling a four-legged animal includes a resilient body having a back portion and a head defining a mouth passage. A liquid filled bottle is insertable into the mouth of the figure to transfer liquid into the interior of the figure. A single direction flow valve couples the transferred liquid from the mouth through a throat housing and ultimately into a resilient liquid bladder supported within the body of the toy figure. The toy figure body further supports a discharge valve coupled to a downwardly open discharge port which is operated by a vertically extending actuating rod supported within the bladder. The actuating rod and discharge valve as well as the discharge port define communicating passages which provide an air vent for the bladder during filling. A quantity of liquid is discharged downwardly through the discharge port by pressing upon the toy figure body with sufficient force to depress the actuating rod and open the discharge valve.

A doll includes a pair of arms, a pair of legs and a head supported by a doll torso. One of the doll arms is secured to the torso at a shoulder joint which includes the outer end of an arm movement mechanism. The arm movement mechanism includes an arm shaft pivotally supported at the shoulder joint of the doll at one end and having a ball at the interior end thereof. The arm movement mechanism within the doll further includes a slidably supported traveler having a spring urging the traveler toward one end of its motion. The traveler includes a rearwardly extending lever passing through an aperture formed in the doll torso. The traveler defines a socket which receives the ball end of the arm shaft in a pivotal attachment. As the user moves the lever upon the doll torso, the arm shaft is pivoted causing a corresponding pivotal movement of the doll arm.

A toy doll having arms which move in response to the upper torso of the doll being pivoted about a horizontal axis. As the upper torso of the doll is tilted back and forth, a pin engaged to the lower torso of the doll slidably engages the upper curved surfaces of a cam support mounted in the upper torso causing a forked plate rotatably mounted on the support to rotate back and forth. Rotation of the forked plate causes a crown gear to rotate which engages two gears with detents rotatably mounted on a shaft. As a result, the two gears with detents rotate in opposite directions causing arm connectors attached to the doll's arms to also rotate in opposite directions. As such, the doll's arms move back and forth in opposite directions as the upper torso is tilted back and forth. A spring disposed around the shaft and between the two gears with detents allows the two gears to disengage from the arm connectors preventing damage to the doll when the arms of the doll are twisted improperly by a child.

A motion delay mechanism is disclosed which can be mounted within the torso of an animated figure toy having articulated arms. A spring is used to rotate the arms and a governor is incorporated into the mechanism for the purpose of delaying movement of the arms. The governor features a worm gear which is used in conjunction with other gears to slow down rotation of the arms. A ratchet is used for selectively loading the spring and engaging the gears. The arms of the figure toy may be used to slowly move the hands of the toy through hair attached to the toy's head or to tilt the head backward.

Motion delay mechanism for animated figure toy

A hair twining apparatus configured for one hand operation of a trigger, the apparatus having at least two hair clamp members carried by a sub-housing within a housing. With a switch in a first position, pumping of the trigger rotates the clamp members about the supporting shafts thereof for twisting groups of hair filaments attached to the clamp members. With the switch in a second position, pumping of the trigger causes intermittent unidirectional angular displacement of the hair clamp members to twine the strands by rotating the sub-housing.

Hair twining apparatus

A simulated exercise apparatus toy having a housing with a seat portion, handlebars, rotatable simulated pedals and a simulated control panel with a window. A manually operated crank is provided with gear members within the housing rotating the pedals and simultaneously rotating a drum member with the indicia thereon appearing within the window of the simulated control panel to simulate an exercise function, such as respiration, or the like. Internal to the housing, one of the pedals is provided with first and second concentric bevel gears, one for engaging the bevel gear operated by the crank, and the second engaging a bevel gear operating the drum member.

A mechanically actuable doll's head (12) is mounted on an angled cut (20) formed in a neck (14) and is supported on a pair of shoulders (16) fixed to a supporting base (18). An actuating mechanism (26) for rotating the head from one side to the other, and at the same time tilting the head up or down is provided, and includes a knob (28), a first shaft (32), a first bevel gear (34), a second bevel gear (38), a second shaft (42) and a neck-plug (44) having an enlarged portion (46) carrying the head.

Poseable doll head

A child's playset comprised of a number of rooms offering different stage settings which may be changed. Each room includes a pair of walls at an angle with respect to each other and a floor having two different heights. The playset is preferably formed by attaching four rooms together at hinges whereby the rooms may be moved with respect to each other to form different shaped playsets. In addition, the rooms may be brought together to form a square wherein a handle extending upwardly from the walls of each room come together to form a central carrying handle for transportation of the playset.
