An industrial reel wrap is designed for wrapping an industrial reel having a central spool and a pair of end plates connected thereto. The reel wrap includes a central portion that is spannable across a distance between the end plates of the reel. The reel wrap additionally includes first and second side portions that are coupled to the central portion. The first and second side portions each include a number of tabs along the length of the reel wrap. The tabs are securable to the exterior surface of each the end plates, the first and last of the tabs are preferably overlapped to completely enclose the industrial reel. The tabs are separated from the central portion by a double crease seam to enable easier folding of the tabs. The reel wrap may be scored to enable compact folding for shipment.

Ridge cap type roof ventilator

A ventilating system for a roof made of a multi-plied weatherproof material. The weatherproof material includes a planar ply and a second ply joined such that a multiplicity of air passages is defined thereby. The air passages extend generally transversely to longitudinal axes of the embodiments. Each embodiment can be transported and stored in a spiral conformation. The spiral conformation is achieved by rolling the embodiment in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis. A series of embodiments include a top panel and one or more lateral vents, rolled such that the one or more lateral vents are radially exposed. When shipped and stored in a spiral conformation, the embodiment with radially exposed lateral vents is more quickly and easily installed on a roof. Another embodiment, also conformable to a spiral for shipping and storing, is advantageously used to enhance ventilation by ventilating the eave.

Rollable roof ventilating device and methods for use thereof

A ridge vent comprising a pair of opposing vent parts each fabricated from a plurality of stacked, interconnected layers of a corrugated plastic sheet material and a top panel extending between and connected to the opposing vent parts, with the entire assembled ridge vent being rolled into a spiral or coil, and secured in that configuration for later installation on a roof. The assembled ridge vent is rolled into the spiral configuration from an initially planar configuration by engaging a leading end of the ridge vent and rolling the ridge vent onto a drum or mandrel to form a tight, uniform spiral. The rolled vent can then be labeled and banded or packaged. The fabrication process from bulk rolls of sheet material to packaged roof vents can be substantially continuous and automated. Roof vents of various lengths or widths can be manufactured with only minor adjustments or substitutions in the fabrication equipment. The ridge vent is installed by placing the roll on the peak of the roof with the free end of the spiral extending over the top of the spiral and oriented away from the direction of installation. The blank is unrolled to expose a portion of the ridge vent, which is fastened to the roof. This process is repeated until the desired length is installed. Foam end caps and air deflectors optionally may be installed.

Ridge cap roof ventilator applied in assembled, rolled form and method

A ridge peak roof ventilator comprising a pair of vent parts disposed on opposing sides of an opening in a roof peak, and a top panel disposed above and connecting each of the vent parts. The vent parts may be of unitary construction, folded from interconnected panels, or assembled from individual layers of sheet material, and each forms a multiplicity of air passages through which air flows from the interior to the exterior of the roof ventilator. The top panel is constructed from double-faced corrugated plastic having a pair of planar plies and a convoluted intermediate ply. The underside of the top panel is routed along the centerline to form a concave recessed area, thereby cutting away a section of one planar ply and part of the intermediate ply to form oval-shaped openings. Each opening has side walls traversing concave arcuate paths between a maximum height adjacent the side edges of the recessed area and a minimum height along the centerline. The top panel will responsively fold along the centerline corresponding to the minimum heights of each of the side walls. Each vent part defines pockets serving as precipitation barriers, the pockets being formed by cutting an array of apertures into separate panels and folding or attaching those panels in parallel abutting contact with the apertures aligned. The top panel may also define one or more lines of apertures extending completely therethrough. The roof ventilator may be shipped flat or folded into a compact bundle.

A tote container which is cut to form a blank from a single sheet of double-faced corrugated plastic material, the blank being scored to define individual panels, and those panels folded to an upright position to define a receptacle region. The corrugations of the plastic material define a grain, and the blank for the tote container is oriented upon the sheet of corrugated plastic material such that the lines of grain cross the scored fold lines separating the panels at an acute angle thereto, thereby permitting individual lines of grain to extend under the receptacle region of the tote container and traverse the tote container both laterally and longitudinally. This prevents the planar plies of the double-faced corrugated plastic sheet material from being perforated, and the convoluted intermediate ply from being crushed along the length thereof, when the blank is scored. The folds between the panels are straighter and do not roll or buckle away from positions of the predetermined scored fold lines, and the planar plies will not fray along the edges of the blank.

Caddy for attachment to a waste receptacle

A utility tote container comprising a base panel, a pair of side wall panels, and a pair of end wall panels hingedly connected to the base panel. A pair of end foldover panels are hingedly connected to each end wall panel. The side wall panels and end wall panels are pivoted upwardly to an upright configuration, and the end foldover panels are folded inwardly into parallel abutting contact with the exterior planar surface of the adjacent side wall panel. End panel securing flaps are hingedly connected to each of the end foldover panels, and are received through aligned and correspondingly sized slots in the side wall panels. The end wall securing flaps are folded into parallel abutting contact with the interior planar surface of the adjacent side wall panel, and are secured thereto using a releasable fastener such as mating hook and loop type fasteners. Each end wall panel defines a centered handgrip opening, and a folded rim or shoulder extending along the length of the top edge of the end wall panel. The portion of the end wall panel cut away to form the handgrip opening is folded upwardly across double scored fold lines, and into the interior of the shoulder between the end wall panel and the portion of the end wall panel folded downwardly to form the shoulder, thereby presenting two double-thickness folds of corrugated sheet material at the top of the handgrip opening to provide greater supporting surface or purchase when a user lifts the utility tote container.

A caddy for recyclable paper constructed from an irregular blank of corrugated plastic sheet material such as double-faced polyethylene, with a metal hanger allowing the caddy to be mounted on the rim of a conventional wastebasket. The carton includes an open top, a higher rear wall, lower front wall, and angled side walls. The ends of the hanger are received between a rear panel and rear foldover panel which are hingedly connected and folded into parallel abutting contact to form the rear wall, the central portion of the hanger extending upwardly through a slit formed between those panels. Fastening tabs extending from the rear panel are inserted through slots defined between one side wall panel and a side flap, and a reinforcing tab extending from the rear foldover panel prevents the top fastening tab from flexing. An ear panel extending from the side panel is folded to form the angled top edge of the side wall, and engages in a slot on the reinforcing tab to press the reinforcing tab against the top fastening tab, further preventing flexing of either the fastening or reinforcing tabs. The two-bag tote container is constructed from a blank of double-faced corrugated plastic sheet material, and is dimensioned to receive two standard paper shopping bags. The two-bag tote container has a metal retaining rim extending around the periphery thereof forming handgrips, and a lid pivotally connected to the retaining rim utilizing a plurality of hinge flaps.

Recyclable materials caddy for hanging attachment to a waste receptacle

A waste disposal receptacle comprising a receptacle body and a lid. The receptacle body has a bottom and four side walls which may be formed from one unitary blank or a pair of interconnected blanks. The side walls may be scored to be folded flat in either a square parallelogram configuration or a hexagonal configuration. The side walls define trapezoidal apertures through which weights such as sand bags, bricks, or boards may be placed onto the bottom to weigh down and stabilize the waste disposal receptacle. Two of the opposing side walls define upwardly projecting ridges that are received through correspondingly aligned slots in the lid, the ridges and lid holding a thin plastic bag within the waste disposal container in an upright and open position. The lid may define one or more waste receiving openings particularly designed for recyclable waste, such as a pair of circular openings for receiving metal cans and glass bottles. The receptacle body and lid are preferably constructed from a double-faced corrugated plastic sheet material.

A caddy for recyclable paper materials constructed from a linear blank of double-faced corrugated plastic sheet material such as polyethylene, with a metal hanger member allowing the caddy to be mounted in hanging relation to the rim of a conventional wastebasket. The caddy includes an open top, with a higher rear wall, lower front wall, and convexly curved side walls. The ends of the hanger member are received between a rear panel and a rear foldover panel which are hingedly connected and folded into parallel abutting contact to form the rear wall, and the central portion of the hanger member extends upwardly and rearwardly through a slit formed between those panels. The front and rear foldover panels are shortened, and the front foldover panel is held in place by a pair of side struts extending from front to rear along the side walls of the caddy. The blank is oriented on the corrugated plastic sheet material such that longer or major axis of the rectangle bounding the blank is parallel with the longitudinal grain of the corrugated plastic sheet material.

A tote container for perishable produce such as asparagus comprising a pair of identical molded end shells which form the side walls of the tote container, with an intermediate blank cut and scored from a sheet material such as double-faced corrugated plastic extending between and securely attached to each of the end shells. The blank is folded to form a bottom panel, back panel, pivoting top lid and front lid panels, and a front tray panel to the tote container. The tote container defines a receptacle region with an open top and front, and the blank defines a bottom tray portion within that receptacle region.
