A system and method that include receiving constraints that are specified as points in a three-dimensional coordinate system that represent a geological environment that includes a surface position and a subterranean portion of a wellsite and receiving data collected from at least one offset well that is located near the wellsite that pertain to a geology and at least one condition related to drilling of the at least one offset well and determining a set of points through which a wellbore is extendable at the wellsite. The system and method additionally include generating at least one well plan that is based on the constraints and the set of points for constructing a well associated with the wellbore. The system and method further include transmitting the at least one well plan to a drilling system to execute the at least one well plan to control drilling equipment to construct the well.

Well planning and drilling service

A method for designing a well, including: determining a first well construction discipline for a first participant and an authority level for the first participant within the first well construction discipline; obtaining a plurality of rules corresponding to the first well construction discipline and the authority level for the first participant within the first well construction discipline; operating, based on the plurality of rules, an interface that restricts decision options for the first participant; receiving a decision associated with the well and based on the interface from the first participant; and updating a design of the well based on the decision.

Multi-level well design validator

A system can include an individual workspace well design application that includes a graphical user interface that includes selectable graphical elements corresponding to subsystems of a wellsite system and graphical alert elements; a collaborative workspace well design application operatively coupled to the individual workspace well design application; and well design evaluators operatively coupled to the individual workspace well design application and the collaborative workspace well design application where the evaluators receive and analyze design parameters associated with one or more subsystems of a wellsite system to control transmission of one or more alerts that activate one or more graphical alert elements of the individual workspace well design application.

Wellsite system services

A method can include receiving information that includes well trajectory information, wellsite equipment information and driller information; based at least in part on the information, determining a level of detail of human executable well plan instructions; based at least in part on the information, generating a well plan where the well plan includes human executable well plan instructions based on the determined level of detail; and outputting the well plan.

A method can include selecting a location in an area that includes offset wells; determining design parameters of the offset wells; modeling a modeled well based at least in part on the design parameters of the offset wells to generate design parameters for the modeled well; and determining design parameters for a well at the selected location based at least in part on a portion of the design parameters of the offset wells and based at least in part on a portion of the design parameters for the modeled well.

A method can include receiving information associated with an oilfield service; analyzing at least a portion of the information based at least in part on an oilfield services database that includes individual data structures that characterize individual oilfield services; and, based at least in part on the analyzing, outputting at least one additional oilfield service as a recommended oilfield service.

Oilfield service selector

A method can include asynchronously receiving a well trajectory as part of a well plan, a fluid plan as part of the well plan and a bottom hole assembly plan as part of the well plan where the well trajectory is based at least in part on information associated with a geologic environment; asynchronously determining coherency metrics as to dependencies between the well trajectory, the fluid plan and the bottom hole assembly plan; and, based at least in part on the coherency metrics, issuing one or more messages that call for adjusting one or more of the well trajectory, the fluid plain and the bottom home assembly plan.

Distributed well engineering and planning

A method can include receiving well plan information that includes a reservoir target associated with a reservoir of a subterranean environment; based at least in part on characteristics of the subterranean environment, determining well trajectory metrics that comprise a geometrical metric; determining a weighted metric based at least in part on weighting of the well trajectory metrics; and, based at least in part on an assessment of the weighted metric, outputting directional drilling information for a well trajectory to the reservoir target.

Well planning service

A method. The method may include obtaining, from a graphical user interface (GUI), a selection of a first oilfield object. The first oilfield object may define a portion of a first wellbore design. The method may further include determining a target context of a second wellbore design. The method may further include obtaining, from the first oilfield object, source oilfield data describing the portion of the first wellbore design. The method may further include adjusting the source oilfield data, according to the target context of the second wellbore design, to obtain target oilfield data for the second wellbore design. The method may further include generating, using the target oilfield data, a second oilfield object within the target context. The method may further include presenting, within the GUI, the second oilfield object.

Method and system for generating oilfield objects

Implementations of visualization controls are described. Some techniques described herein enable a user to interact with a geoscience object on display. In one possible embodiment, simultaneous movements of two or more user-controlled points are tracked using a motion monitoring system, such as cameras. The movement of the points is then interpreted as an interaction with the geoscience object and results in a corresponding alteration of the display of the geoscience object. One example interaction includes a compound manipulation (i.e. translation, rotation, scaling and/or skewing) of the geoscience object.

Visualization controls

Systems and methods of performing oilfield operations for an oilfield are provided. The oilfield has a subterranean formation with geological structures and reservoirs therein. A plurality of oilfield modules are positioned in an application. Each of the oilfield modules models at least a portion or attribute of the oilfield. The oilfield modules are selectively connected via a connection. The connections may be integrated connections providing cooperation for integrated modeling therebetween and/or dynamic connections providing knowledge sharing for unified modeling therebetween whereby at least one oilfield model is generated. At least one internal database may be positioned in the application for collecting oilfield data and operatively connected to the of oilfield modules. At least one oilfield model is generated using the oilfield data and the oilfield modules.
