A downhole tool and method, of which the downhole tool includes a housing defining a charge chamber and a hydraulic chamber, the hydraulic chamber containing a hydraulic fluid, and a piston disposed in the hydraulic chamber. The piston prevents the hydraulic fluid from communicating with the charge chamber, and is in communication with the hydraulic fluid and the charge chamber. The tool also includes one or more charges disposed in the charge chamber. The one or more charges are configured to ignite and thereby expand a gas in the charge chamber. The tool further includes a fluid-metering device coupled to the housing. The fluid-metering device is configured to control a rate at which the hydraulic fluid is pressed out of the hydraulic chamber.

Downhole inflation tool and inflatable device

A downhole tool includes an expandable sleeve. The expandable sleeve includes a lower portion and an upper portion. The downhole tool also includes a lower cone positioned at least partially within the lower portion of the expandable sleeve. The downhole tool also includes an upper cone positioned at least partially within the upper portion of the expandable sleeve. The lower and upper cones are configured to expand the respective lower and upper portions of the expandable sleeve radially outward when the lower and upper cones are adducted toward one another. The downhole tool also includes an isolation device extending through the bore of the expandable sleeve and positioned radially inward of the lower and upper cones. The isolation device is configured to engage the upper cone so as to block fluid flow therethrough in at least one direction.

Downhole tool and methods

A downhole plug, an insert for a downhole plug, and a method for plugging a well. The insert includes a body configured to be disposed at least partially within a seat of the plug, and a first obstructing member coupled with the body. The first obstructing member is configured to substantially obstruct a bore through the body and to be removed from the body when a predetermined actuation pressure is applied.
