An optical fiber cable assembly has a first end portion of each of a plurality of optical fibers positioned in a generally parallel first array and a second end portion of each of the plurality of optical fibers is positioned in a generally parallel second array. Optical fibers along a portion of the length spaced from the first and second end portions are not retained in a parallel array. A coating is applied to at least a section of each optical fiber. A generally planar carrier of an optical assembly has a first guide member and a second guide member with a first cable assembly disposed within the first guide member and a second cable assembly disposed within the second guide member. Connectors of the cable assemblies are spaced from the carrier. A securement structure retains the cable assemblies within the guide members.

Optical fiber cable assembly and carrier

An optical housing assembly includes a housing member having a first face and a second face. The first face has a plurality of first cavities and the second face has a plurality of second cavities. Each of the first cavities is aligned with one of the second cavities and each of the first cavities and each of the second cavities has a housing locking member. Each of a plurality of first adapter inserts have a first mounting section inserted into one of the first cavities, a first receptacle configured to receive a first optical fiber connector therein, and a first connector latching member. Each of a plurality of second adapter inserts has a second mounting section inserted into one of the second cavities, a second receptacle, and a second connector latching member.

Optical fiber assembly

An optical fiber assembly comprises an optical fiber having a forward end, a ferrule supporting the optical fiber, a beam expanding element aligned with the forward end of the optical fiber, and a thermal expansion compensation element adjacent the optical fiber to compensate for thermal expansion differences between the optical fiber and the ferrule.

Wide temperature range optical fiber connector with thermal expansion compensation

An optical fiber interconnect assembly includes a first housing component with deflectable locking arms having a locking section and an engagement section. The locking arms are movable between a first locked position and a second unlocked position. A second housing component is operatively slidable relative to the first housing component between a locking position and an unlocking position. An engagement section moves the locking arm to its second unlocked position upon movement of the second housing component to its second unlocking position. A ferrule is movably mounted between the first housing component and the second housing component. At least one biasing member biases the ferrule for movement.

Optical fiber interconnect assembly

An optical fiber connector assembly for mounting on a substrate includes a housing and a receptacle opening in a direction generally perpendicular to the substrate. A multi-fiber ferrule receives optical fibers with one of the optical fibers defining an optical fiber axis. A ferrule carrier with the ferrule is positioned within the receptacle. A locking member locks the ferrule carrier within the receptacle. In one embodiment, the locking member move generally parallel to the optical fiber axis. In another embodiment, the locking member rotates relative to the optical fiber axis.

Optical fiber connector assembly

The device includes a body, a lens holder, a lens, a ferrule, a ferrule holder, an optical cable holder, a snap ring, and a spring. The lens holder retains the lens, and the lens holder accommodates the ferrule. The ferrule holder is mounted to the body. The spring is mounted between a spring seat of the ferrule holder and a spring seat of the optical cable holder. The snap ring is mounted to the optical cable holder so as to retain the optical cable holder to the body.

Fiber optic buildout converter, physical contact to expanded beam

The expanded beam, single fiber, fiber optic connector includes a lens holder, a lens, and a ferrule. The lens holder retains the lens, and the lens holder accommodates the ferrule. The lens is in optical communication with an optical fiber retained in the ferrule. The lens holder has an outside diameter that is substantially the same as the outside diameter of a ferrule of a physical contact, single fiber, fiber optic connector, such as one of an LC, SC, FC, and ST style or standard fiber optic connectors.

The fiber optic buildout converter includes a housing, a first fiber optic connector, and a second fiber optic connector. The housing has a first end and a second end. The first fiber optic connector is located near the first end of the housing, and the first fiber optic connector has a first interface style. The second fiber optic connector is located near the second end of the housing, and the second fiber optic connector has a second interface style. The second interface style of the second fiber optic connector is different that the first interface style of the first fiber optic connector. Furthermore, the second fiber optic connector is in optical communication with the first fiber optic connector.

The device includes a ferrule, a housing, a first gap, and a holder. The housing having a recess, a first cantilever spring, a second cantilever spring. The recess accommodates the ferrule. The first cantilever spring has a first contact area, and the second cantilever spring has a second contact area. The holder having a ferrule seating surface, first, second, third, and fourth cantilever spring seating surfaces, and a second gap. The holder is interposed between the ferrule, and the first and second cantilever springs. The first and second cantilever spring seating surfaces contact the first contact area if the first cantilever spring. The third and fourth cantilever spring seating surfaces contact the second contact area of the second cantilever spring. The ferrule contacts the ferrule seating surface of the holder.

Rugged MT-MT connector

The device includes a fiber optic cable, a transponder, a media converter, an antenna, and a transceiver. The transponder is attached to the fiber optic cable. The media converter is mountable to a bulkhead. The antenna is attached to the media converter. The transceiver is electrically connected to the antenna so as to form a reader which is capable of activating and interrogating the transponder when the transponder is sufficiently close to the antenna.

The device includes first and second ferrules, first and second housings, and first and second holders. The first and second ferrules have respective first and second mating ends. The first housing has a first cantilever spring, a second cantilever spring, and a first recess for accommodating the first ferrule. The second housing has a third cantilever spring, a fourth cantilever spring, and a second recess for accommodating the second ferrule. The first holder is interposed between the first ferrule and the first and second cantilever springs. The second holder is interposed between the second ferrule and the third and fourth cantilever springs. In a connected state, the first mating end of the first ferrule contacts the second mating end of the second ferrule so that the first ferrule is in optical communication with the second ferrule.

The active bulkhead transceiver includes a housing, an insert body, a keying cap, a first ferrule, a second ferrule, a transmitting optical subassembly, a receiving optical subassembly, an electrical connector, a substrate, a cover, and a panel nut. The housing includes seating surface, an aperture, a first thread form, and a second thread form. The panel nut has a thread form, and a seating surface. The thread form of the panel nut is complimentary to one of the thread forms of the housing so that the panel nut is removeably mountable on the housing.

Active bulkhead transceiver

The fiber optic connector includes a bulkhead connector housing, an expanded beam insert body, ferrules, ball lenses, focal length spacers, and a mating plane adapter. The expanded beam insert body is mounted to the bulkhead connector housing. The ferrules, ball lenses, and focal length spacers are mounted on the expanded beam insert body. The mating plane adapter is mountable to the bulkhead connector housing.

Expanded beam converter for MIL-PRF-83526/17 optical connector

An adjustable strain relief boot includes a stationary portion and a moving portion slidably connected to the stationary portion. The adjustable strain relief boot is used to guide an optical fiber away from a connector of the optical fiber. In application, the stationary portion of the adjustable strain relief boot is press fitted onto to the connector. The adjustable strain relief boot provides for a predetermined, fixed angle of departure of the optical fiber away from the connector. The fixed angle of departure can be adjusted by the operator from a first position to a second position. The fixed angle of departure is adjustable between forty five and ninety degrees. In a locked position, the moving portion can not move relative to the stationary portion since actuator engagement teeth of an actuator arm of the stationary portion engage teeth of the moving portion. In an unlocked position, a force is applied to a release tab of the actuator arm of the stationary portion so as to disengage the actuator engagement teeth of the stationary from the teeth of the moving portion so as to allow the moving portion to move relative to the stationary portion. Due to the resiliency of the actuator arm of the stationary portion, when the force applied to the release tab is removed, the actuator arm tends to move towards its undeflected position thus engaging the actuator engagement teeth with the teeth of the moving portion.
